Shinin Isshin is an OC character of mine. I'll have a tumblr page up for her in a few days with a full bio and I'll link this there. This is being written purely because I didn't like the way Kabuto's story ended.

"Shinin," a small hoarse voiced whispered.
Shinin looked up startled. She hadn't heard the footsteps come up behind her. Looking up she smiled at the white haired man standing behind her. His face was blank but she could see troubled thoughts in his eyes.

"Kabuto," she said back in a soft tone. "What are you doing out here? It's cold," she asked. There was no reply from the pale man. Normally Shinin would be irked but she knew his mind was broken and he was still recovering.

"Come. Sit down next to me," she said cheerily, patting the wood of the patio of the Isshin estate of Konoha. Kabuto did what he was asked, sitting down slowly, his body moving in rough movements as if he were made of stone. He looked down at the ground as Shinin looked at him. She smiled remember all the times in their childhood that they had mocked and antagonized each other. They'd both had hard lives but hopefully the hardships were over, at least for him. Shinin had lived through Orochimaru, she'd successfully made a new home, and rebuilt her clan with the help of her brother. Fixing the only man she'd ever loved would be easy compared to that. It would simply take time.

"How are you feeling Kabu-kun," she said scooting closer to him. He replied with a soft grunt. She reached out and touched his face. He had cold rough skin like a snake now, much different from the warm pink he'd always had before. "It's okay. It'll get better," she whispered, pulling back her hand and resting her head on his shoulder.

"It will just take time."
