A/N: This is a part of my story "A Timelord's Punishment". This story goes side by side with it. This can be read as a one story, but will make more sense if you read the other as well.
I do not own Doctor Who, although I do wish I could.
Rose opened her eyes and saw the roof. She hated looking at this plain, white, non-blue roof. She saw it when she went to sleep and she saw it when she got up. She looked over at John who was snoring quite loudly this morning. She stared at his face. Particularly his eyes. They were closed but were moving vividly. He was probably dreaming again. He's been having…strange dreams lately. He wouldn't tell Rose what they were, but he seemed to be extremely tired even after a very long dream. The other week he was crying his eyes out. He still wouldn't tell her.
Although she never told him about her dreams either. He never asked, She dreamt about John's face on a different man. A different body with a different mind. With different everything. Rose was happy with John, she truly was. She just didn't feel what she used to feel.
She looked over the clock. 6:05AM. Still too early, but again what is time but a number? She quietly got up and got dressed in some casual clothes. When working at Torchwood you never know whether you would be running or actual "working".
Getting out of the bedroom, she noticed John turned over on the bed smiling. If he were dreaming about another woman, she would kill him. But she was thinking about a different man, so it wouldn't be quite fair.
She didn't want to stay and drink her tea this morning. Instead she grabbed her coat and decided to walk for a while. She took a piece of paper and a pen and started to write.
Dear John,
Out for a walk. Don't come after me. See you at work. Love you!
~Rose
John opened his eyes. He dreamed he was with River again. His 'wife' in a parallel world. The connection between him and the other him was getting very strong. When John was asleep he could see everything the other man was seeing. He thought it would be the same for the other man.
Ever since his companions, Rory and Amy, left John has been feeling more depressed than ever. They weren't real to him. They couldn't be. They were in a parallel universe. They never even met John. Yet, something about them drew John in and he loved them. The Ponds.
He was still with River. Traveling until the end of the days. He never actually met River. He remembered her at the library. She died there but yet there she was in his dreams, alive and kicking.
He got up and finally realized Rose wasn't there. "Rose?" He put a bathrobe on and headed out to the living room. She wasn't there either. She was usually drinking her tea and reading if she got up early. He looked on the counter for her keys, which were gone. He saw a piece of paper waiting for him as well.
He read it and he semi-shrugged. He looked in the living room mirror and frowned. "Now that's odd."
