Ed smiled as he heard the song begin. Winry had been his only love for as long as he could remember. Other girls didn't make him feel the way she did. Despite the fact that he constantly wrecked his automail and she hit him for it, he knew that she knew what would happen if he left or even died. That was what kept him alive and coming back.

Winry smiled as she sang along. Without Ed, she would be lost and confused. He had gotten her through her parents' death. She would have never made it through without him, because he made her life worthwhile. Even if he was sometimes a pain.

Her love and tender care helped him recover in a year. A year and then he was gone. Ed felt sorry, but he had made a promise and wasn't looking back.

He had taken care of her when her grandmother died. He got her back on her own two feet with his love. She continued the business but renamed it. Her grandmother had been there for all of them.

He had come home one final time. He had resigned from the military and proposed to her on the same day. She had been so happy she cried. He was going to stay and help her run the business. They both were free to live the normal lives they wanted.

She smiled as she peeked in on him. He was now helping her patients get back on their feet. Sometimes, she had to equip children with automail. That one was always the hardest and yet, they all seemed to attach themselves to Ed. Ed would balance them on his knees or let them climb on him to get used to their new limbs. She was certainly blessed to have such a loving husband.

She smiled as she sang the last stanza as she headed back to her room. This song described both of them perfectly and with a little bit of love and tender care, their current patient would make a full recovery. And with another bit of luck, she may also become their child to love.

"You know I love your singing."

"You used to complain about it."

She got no response from him but was kissed full on the lips. Why had it taken both of them this long to realize that they loved each other more than life itself?

"I can't imagine me without you," she told him as they headed into their bedroom.
