"Honey," the governor told his daughter Katie, "I'm proud of you for coming clean but we have to talk about lying"
"K daddy," Katie said
"Do you understand why lying is wrong?"
"Cause it could get people in trouble," Katie said, "I understand that."
"Right. But there's another reason too. It can hurt people's feelings. Suppose I told you that were going to see your friend Jan. Suppose you got all excited. Suppose you found out that I was lying. How would you feel?"
"Disappointed"
"Right and that's how other people feel when they're lied to"
"I won't lie again," Katie promised and she didn't.
