-1Chapter 1: Time for Tea

Prince Zuko and his Uncle had been traveling for weeks without any aid from the fire nation. Zuko was as always brooding about catching the Avatar and barely speaking. His mood seemed to have been getting worse and worse as time had gone by.

As Uncle waited for the tea he surveyed his surroundings. They were in a very dense forest, really they had been here for about three days. Thanks to Zuko's remarkable navigation skills they had gotten lost and were just trying to find a way out. Luckily they had found a large circular clearing next to a shallow stream, where they could set camp.

With a lazy yawn Uncle looked to the sky and watched the clouds drift by without a care, while some birds fought nosily in the trees nearby. Leaning against the closest tree Uncle's eyes slowly grew heavier and heavier until a loud shriek snapped him out of his relaxed state. "Tea's done" Uncle informed Zuko, he didn't stir from the large boulder he was sitting upon. "Oh well more for me" Uncle thought with a smile. As he poured the green mixture into his cup he slowly began to realize something. It was quiet, and not the kind of outdoorsy quiet. An eerie quiet.

Suddenly the earth began to shake ferociously. "An earthquake?" yelled Zuko. Both men hit the dirt, in the process Zuko had gotten a mouth full of dirt and was trying to spit it out. And just as suddenly as it began it stopped. "What was that all about" Zuko said with a grimace still trying not to gag on dirt. "I don't know..." Before Uncle could finish his sentence a large explosion in the middle of the clearing sent both Zuko and Uncle flying into nearby trees. Pain shot though Zuko's body as he attempted to stand up again. "Uncle? Uncle?" Zuko shouted frantically ignoring the pain from impact. There was no reply. "UNCLE!" About Five feet from him some branches started to rustle and out popped Uncle. Zuko heaved a sigh of relief and slowly made his way over to Uncle. "What was that?" Uncle grunted as Zuko helped him stand. "I don't know" his eyes directed toward the middle of the clearing. Right were the explosion seemed to emanate from, was a girl.
