I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Or maybe I'm not...
;P
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who or any of the characters or ideas from it. The sadness is real.
"I know!" the Doctor exclaimed, smiling at Rose before leaping to the console, his leather jacket flapping around. Rose gave a grin back, her tongue poking between her teeth.
"This planet is brilliant, really!" the Doctor whirled around, hitting a lever with his converse clad foot, trench coat flowing in the air. Donna put her hands on her hips, but regarded her 'Space Man' warmly.
"You'll love it, Ponds!" the Doctor shouted, pulling down the monitor and giving his two friends a lopsided grin, bow tie slightly askew and fez placed haphazardly on his head. Amy and Rory shared a happy glance, quivering with excitement.
"Let's go," the Doctor said, glaring at Clara with dramatic joy. She just shook her head, eyes bright.
"It'll be fantastic!"
"Allons-y!"
"Geronimo!"
"Doctor, I'm not sure-" "Shut up!"
Then the TARDIS began to shake, rumble, and groan.
The Doctor furrowed his brows and reached for a knob, Rose standing nervously off to the side.
The Doctor's eyes widened and he quickly fiddled with a switch, Donna glaring at him.
The Doctor straightened his bowtie and flapped his hands about, the Ponds looking at him concerned.
The Doctor stared at the smoking console in shock, Clara gaining a confused look.
Then it all began to crumble.
Reality simply collapsed in on itself, hairline fractures splitting into cracks, opening into holes, and searing huge tears into every dimensional wall. Every event in history clashed with one another, all of them happening at once before promptly ceasing to exist. Everything was happening, nothing was happening, nothing could happen, but nothing could remain. Void seeped through the rips in space and time, finally escaping its confined space between universes.
And then they could see.
The Doctor looked at everyone, bewildered at the strangers.
The Doctor looked around, before his eyes landed on Rose and he promptly melted, reaching out for her.
The Doctor saw his old selves and old friends and grasped blindly for the comfort of a Pond's hand.
The Doctor takes in his broken past, and feels a searing pain in his chest. The pain he went through during and after every regeneration. The measures he and others took to preserve the Timelord's life. The friends he made, lost, and destroyed.
But he knew it was all over.
The last scraps of reality floated away, out of reach, leaving those who remained without anything to grasp onto. Slowly but surely, it all began to end.
Rose lost her grip first, falling into the non-existent abyss below, breaking many, many hearts. The Doctor. Her Doctor went next, making sure he wouldn't leave her side this time. Donna then had to go, but she held her ground, her stubbornness making its final appearance. The Doctor threw his arms around her, and the two left together. The Doctor quickly gathered up his Ponds and ran one last time. Geronimo. Then the Impossible Girl began to slip. So, the Doctor followed her and lay a hand on her shoulder as one last comfort.
As the last comfort in all of time and space. And he remembered something he'd said once before.
"We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"
And the Doctor and all of his companions, friends, relatives, and even enemies know one thing for sure. The last thought in the universe.
It was a brilliant story.
Yeah, so, I really went for sad here⦠Thoughts? ^-^ Did you cry? Did I make a typo? Did you hate this? Please tell meh!
What's happening? No idea. The initial idea was that the show was ending, but I decided to leave it in the air. You readers can decide, I guess. This makes it more dramatic and stuff. Maybe. I dunno.
YOU LIKEY? YOU NO LIKEY?
