Color Changing Snow
He watched her across the room and smiled. She was absolutely amazing. She walked to another part of the room and he was the only one to notice her clumsily trip over her own feet. He laughed and saw the blush creep into her face. The common room had barely any people in it and the Transfiguration homework had been abandoned the moment she came through the portrait hole. His twin, noticing that he had fallen into the normal pattern of watching their friend, had retired to their dormitory hours ago.
One by one, people closed their textbooks and headed to sleep. Finally, the last couple of people left and they were alone. She was sitting by the window, looking outside with a glazed look on her face. He walked over and sat beside her, apparently unnoticed.
"Looks like the snow's white this year," George commented, startling Juliet slightly.
"What color is it normally?" asked Juliet.
"Well, depends; last year it was royal blue. We nearly lost a group of Ravenclaw first years, but most of them were okay after being stuck for a couple of days." George tried not to laugh.
"Really?" Juliet asked, her eyes wide. But George couldn't contain his laughter any longer and burst out in a fit. Juliet hit George hard on the shoulder, but was soon laughing along too. After a few minutes, the giggling subsided and they were sitting on the ledge, watching the snow fall.
"You homesick yet?" George asked her. She shrugged.
"I guess. But it's always good not to have to clean my room everyday." Juliet answered. "But I still miss my mum."
"Well, you're holding out longer than me and Fred…we barely made it to Thanksgiving; luckily our brothers were here, or else I think mum would have picked us up and never taken us back."
"That would be a shame. If you never came back, you never would have met me!" Juliet smiled widely. Then she yawned and stretched, nearly falling off the ledge. "I should go to bed," George nodded and helped her collect her books. They walked over to the entrance to the dormitories.
"Goodnight George," Juliet smiled.
"Goodnight Juliet," And George leant down and kissed her on the cheek. Then he turned and entered his room with out looking back.
If he had, he would have noticed Juliet's hand to her cheek in the spot where George had kissed her, a small smiled on her face.
Something cute, it's really a part of a longer story I'm writing about George and Juliet, cuz the real Juliet loves him so much, this was just for her.
