Disclaimer: Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is not mine.
Reborn always knew that Shoichi had the bullets that would allow him to traverse time. He had not been sleeping that day.
Eventually, Shoichi would get clumsy and he would discover the secret of the bullets.
All Reborn had to do was wait.
When Byakuran had accepted the Sky Mare ring, he had laughed.
It was just a game, after all. It might even stave off the boredom if he could really conquer the world.
It was like that game, Risk. Of course, Byakuran always played to win.
Tsuna had decided to never let himself become a true member of the mafia. Video games might be overrated, but there was always fire where there was smoke.
He would change the mafia, if it was the last thing he did.
Timoteo had handed over the Vongola to his heir before dying. This was odd. Most other bosses had to have their mafia families wrested out of their cold, bloody hands.
The Vongola Nono watched as his successor started stripping down the mafia, limiting the roles of some followers and getting rid of others completely. In peace negotiations, Tsuna had managed to get other organizations to limit their size, as well.
Somehow, those around the Vongola Decimo were still strong, but only them. His family was no longer the largest.
The CIA was pleased. The mafia's influence had been dwindling, recently. There was less in the way of drug traffic, murders, and other crimes that he could find connected to them.
Perhaps it was time for to attack the mafia, now that it had gotten weak.
Xanxus snarled, infuriated. That brat had been giving fewer and fewer assignments to the Varia, had even excluded them from some important meetings.
They had excellent accommodations and everything. So why did Xanxus feel as though the legendary assassination squad was being domesticated?
Uni knew that Byakuran's primary target would be the Vongola. They had the third part of the Tri-ni-sette, after all.
Little did Byakuran know, the Tri-ni-sette could only be used by all three holders of the Sky affinity with the rings and pacifier gathered together.
Grandfather had told her to keep quiet about that, so she would.
Tsuna was exhausted, after the events from the future. He pledged to make sure the Vongola would always be able to protect the ones they cared about.
He would make sure of it.
Shoichi questioned the Cervello, who were always indirect when they weren't communicating orders.
Their answer was that they served the one who cared most about the mafia, the person who could make sure the mafia made through any and all crises.
Their actions were to protect the mafia, nothing more. They had been born to serve the mafia, as a whole.
Reborn, black suit hidden within black suits, shot without remorse.
He never missed.
Author's Note: This is rather confusing, isn't it? I was trying to suggest that Tsuna became the boss in the original future and he attempted to destroy the mafia from within. Since the mafia as a whole became weaker, Reborn stepped in. In my story, Reborn also commands the Cervello, so he would have been responsible for Byakuran getting the rings and organizing the Ring Battles between the Varia and Tsuna's Guardians. Then, Reborn put Xanxus and Byakuran - including the entire future arc - into Tsuna's way as obstacles. So Reborn more or less comes off as the person who's controlling all of the strings in the mafia. None of this is necessarily true, of course; it's just my interpretation of the story.
