Doggie, when you say,

I do love you
more
than you'll ever know
and I have seen you at your best and at
your worst
and I understand what would make you think
that you
didn't have any chance
to have my love.
You are a hero,
Doggie
you're my hero
not only that,
for over twenty years
you have been my best friend
I wouldn't have made it very far
if
I hadn't had you by my side.
You have been a strong
presence in my life
and one that I can never replace
one that I
am eternally grateful to have around me.
I guess that you being
so close
gives me a secure, sheltered feeling I have never had
before
even when I was married… I never felt this safe
as
safe as I feel with you near me.
It's a security I wouldn't
want to live a day without anymore
… I couldn't see
myself living alone, or the life I used to live anymore
I wasn't
truly happy then
I guess it's summed up best in the lyrics of
a
song I heard once… "Before Your Love" by Kelly Clarkson

when you go in circles all the scenery looks the same…"
that
was what I had before
I know, it's not like me, to use a song to
convey a point, but I think
you understand why
I found those
words lifting and meaningful.
They made me see what I didn't
want to see before
but was right in front of my eyes
I love

and I am glad to know that you love me back
