A/N: A drabble justwritten for the new "Autumn" challenge at the house100 livejournal community. No slash intended.
If you can while you're reading, listen to "On Saturday Afternoons in 1963" by Ricki Lee Jones. Great House/Autumn song from Season 1.
Change
Wilson had thrown a Halloween party for the kids every year since he was hired at PPTH. As a new doctor, he had innocently thought it would do his poor patients some good, but with time came realization. This year, he had finally reached the point of depression when the leaves started to change. October passed slowly and pumpkins appeared and his heart ached.
As October 31st turned into November, House found him crying in some dark, abandoned hallway. And all James could say was that it wasn't fair. House took the mask from him and chose silent empathy.
