Everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.
(A thirteen year-old pair sitting on a rooftop together, looking at the stars.)
"Is it always going to be like this?" The girl whispers.
"I hope so," the boy smiles solemnly. "Maybe it'll get even better than this."
But in a world where everything seems to fall apart on command,
(The same boy and girl, meeting at the same rooftop.)
"I love you," she says, for the first time.
No answer. The boy looks down at his feet. "No, you don't."
The girl loses control, "You know what? Go away! I wish I never met you!"
You should be careful what you wish for.
(A girl runs across the street blindly, getting hit by an on-going vehicle.)
"Will she be alright?" Her parents ask, as they look upon their daughter on the hospital bed.
"Fortunately, yes," the Doctor says. "However... she won't remember a thing."
There's always a story behind every soul.
(Three years later, the girl showing up at the Oken front residence.)
Oliver opens the door, "Alyssa? What are you doing here?"
"My parents... they're gone," she whispers in a sob.
And what if that soul, is forced to leave behind a memory...
(Lilly and Oliver lying in the Truscott's backyard, sitting on the grass.)
"Your cousin... she seems really tight," Lilly says blankly.
"Sure. If you call spending three mindless years, 'tight'."
"Wait, what do you mean?"
Oliver sighs, "She's lost all the people she's ever loved. And she can't even remember."
That seems to be the only reason you're still alive?
(Shows the girl sitting at Rico's Shack, listening to the band on the beach by afar.)
"I like your music," she says. "It reminds me of home."
"Ah, home," Nick sighs. "I left that behind a long time ago."
The girl shrugs, "So did I."
And what if in the process of putting things back together,
(Shows Alyssa and Miley back-stage of a rock concert.)
"Stay away from him, " Miley says. Alyssa glances at her. "You heard me. "
"I don't know what you're talking about, " Alyssa says calmly.
"Let's get this straight, okay? I'm the pop star; he's the rock star. He belongs to me. "
"You have a twisted view on reality, Miss Montana," she whispers. "I don't even know him. "
Everything falls apart.
"Introducing... the Jonas Brothers!"
(Shows a drunk teen at the wheel, crash! Fades...)
The boy lies in a hospital bed.
A girl's voice breathes in a cry, "Is he going to die?"
"Darlin'... true love is always alive."
