I felt that this Robin/Marian scene should have been longer after she said; 'Then I'm dead anyway.' We should have seen his reaction. Here is a short drabble showing what I thought should have happened.

Disclaimer:I don't own Robin Hood. The BBC does, wish I did though.

Dead Anyway

The look in his eyes when she had spoken those four words had made her heart lurch. She watched as his eyes flickered back and forth watching her carefully. He knew that she was right, and there was no argument against it. He moved nearly to her one had cupping her cheek, she leant in slightly but he refused to let her kiss him, not after she had said that to him; "Robin," she whispered his name resting her forehead against his.

"I will kill him." Robin swore to her.

"Listen to me Robin," she paused and took his head in her hands; "whoever it is, you don't have to do that, if I've already been found out, I can look after myself." She told him.

"I won't let anyone hurt you," he told her, he then let her kiss him, relaxing his grip on her letting her lips meet his, the kiss was reassuring for him more than anything; "I need you too much," he whispered before kissing her again.

She smiled against his lips; "You don't have to kill for me." She told him meaning every word. He closed his eyes and nodded, he knew that he would have struggled to kill any of his men anyway.

The moment they shared next was filled with a tense silence, they just looked into each other's eyes, he could tell that despite her strong words she was frightened. He needed to know for his own sake that she was alright, needed to know that she wasn't in danger. She was his life and they were meant to be together. He was just happy to look at her, to see her love for him shining in her eyes so plainly that he'd have to be blind to miss it. His aching heart brought him back to the day when he almost lost her. He closed his eyes; "I can't lose you again." He whispered breaking the silence, Marian looked confused.

"You have not lost me." She told him with a wry smile.

"I nearly did." His voice was small now, almost as if the words alone were hurting him.

Her small smile grew; "But you didn't, I am still here. We are together, and with or without a spy, that will never change, I promise you…I will always love you." Her breath caught in her throat, they hadn't ever really had a chance to say it, they of course knew how each other felt, but those three little words hadn't yet been spoken.

Robin's eyes were now locked with Marian's, he was smiling; "I love you too." He told her, closing the small gap between them once more so that their lips met. He pulled away and ran his hand down her cheek, he had to go, she knew. His lips were pressed against her forehead, he would see her again that she could be sure of. Before the end of the day he would tell her about his spy, would reassure her that she was safe and he would tell her again; 'I won't let anyone hurt you.' She would believe him, she always did. He backed away from her, his eyes never leaving hers, she stayed where she was until Robin had gone completely from her sight. She closed her eyes sighing, she hoped that his spy hadn't told the sheriff or Gisbourne, if they had then she really was dead already.

A/N: You like it? I'm a little iffy...not too sure about it myself. Anyway, review please, and no flames thank you.
