i do not own Voltron: Legendary Defenders or Pokemon. They are both owned by DreamWorks and Nintendo/Game Freak respectively.

Shiro stood holding the drill as Dr. Holt and Matt extracted the ice from the machine. Honestly, he doesn't understand how they can be so excited about space when there is the whole of space above their heads but oh well, to each their own. He just wishes he could have brought his partner Lucario with him, but alas, it was not meant to be.

Matt reaches up to grab the tube of ice from the drill. "Easy, son. This ice is delicate." Dr. Holt says for the third time. Matt is completely unfazed by the his father's overprotectiveness.

"Amazing. Isn't this exciting, Shiro?" He casts a glance up at the dark hair man as he pulls the tube of ice out.

A chuckle escapes Shiro's mouth. "You guys get a little more excited about ice samples than i do." Shiro responds with a small smile. He will never not be amazed by the fascination that these two show towards science. He may not understand it but he will always be amazed by it. Dr. Holt looks up at him with a similar smile.

"This is history in the making. Not only have we traveled farther than any human ever has, but this ice could hold microscopic clues about the existence of life on earth." As Dr. Holt stands up straight Matt turns his head towards him.

"Think of it, Dad. we could use those clues to become the first people to meet aliens. At least non-pokemon based ones." Dr. Holt's smile widens. "My life's work would be complete."

Suddenly the ground begins to shake beneath them and they all stop their work in alarm.

"What is that? Seismic activity?" Dr. Holt asks looking round for a cause.

"We should get back to the ship." Shiro orders as he leads the two scientists away.

As they all get up to leave they spot a huge grey ship with purple lights coming towards them from the depths of space.

"What?" Dr. Holt's brain can't process this fast enough. "What is that?" his eyes widen to impossible sizes. "It can't be."

As the ship looms closer, two thoughts race past Shiro's mind. We need to get the hell out of here. And, God, I wish we had lucario right now.

"Run! Come on, run!" He grabs both of the scientists arms and books for it. Matt drops the ice in a desperate attempt at saving his life as the ship activates a tractor beam that destroys all their equipment and flings them into the air. The last thought through Shiro's head was, I'm sorry Keith.

As Shiro come too he hears voices around him.

"Emperor Zarkon," the voice says as he opens his eyes. "We were scouting System X-9-Y as ordered when we found these primitive scientists." He flings his head up to get a look at their captor. He seems to be some type of reptile addressing someone over a video call. "I don't think they know anything useful."

"Take them back to the main fleet for interrogation. The Druids will find out what they know." The creature being addressed orders. Shiro looks over and sees Dr. Holt and Matt still unconscious.

He knows they need to get out of there and tries to appeal for peace. "Please, we come from a peaceful planet! We mean you no harm!" The creature turns his yellow eyes that reminds him so much of his skarmory's its chilling. "We're unarmed!" that is the last thing he gets out as he is knocked out but the butt of a rifle.

The only thing he can remember is flashes. Being dragged down the hall by a guard. Weird creatures, even by earth standards, peering at him through slits in cell doors as they comment at his state. The horror of realizing he will never see home again.
