Ritsuka sat bolt upright in bed, drenched in a cold sweat. That dream, that horrid dream had been plaguing his nights again. He hunched forward, resting an elbow upon on a knee and his forehead against a palm of a suspiciously injured hand.

To find the missing lifeline
His phone beeped and buzzed on the table, the merry jingle of his ringtone so, so out of place in his lonely room with his horrible thoughts. He answered it just in time for the pounding on his door to begin.
"What are you doing on the phone this late at night?"
"My Ritsuka would never do something like this to worry his mother."
Soubi, it seemed, was under his fire escape having not been able to sleep himself.

"I have an umbrella with me just as you have ordered… love" Ritsuka blushed and his tail fluffed up in annoyance.
"It's not even raining. I told you to carry one when it's raining. And what did I say about the L word?" Ritsuka climbed down the fire escape and to the side of the awaiting Soubi. With a whispered "Sorry mother", he was off.

"Happy 18th birthday Ritsuka." Soubi whispered into his ear as he lay in the bed next to him. Soubi got up. "Where are you going?" Ritsuka asked.
"Out" was the simple reply.

Another battle has ended in too much bloodshed for his taste. "Soubi I told you to take it fucking easy on them!"
"I couldn't do that after they hurt you Ritsuka." Ritsuka scowled and stalked away calling Yuiko. "Hey…"
"Yeah it's been a while" …
"Let's make some memories" he hung up and headed to the girls house. The house where he realized he indeed was LOVELESS.

Again he ran out of the house with out an umbrella, damning Soubi, damning Seimei, damning Yuiko, and his mother, his doctor, his teachers; everybody. His head hurt, his heart hurt, and nobody could help him. Soubi only made it that much worse, Seimei had lost his part in Ritsuka's heart as soon as he'd revealed himself as alive and well, Yuiko was to gentle and innocent to crush again like he had when he tried to leave Soubi. It rained and concealed the tears running down his face as he lost himself on the streets of Tokyo.

The rain poured down atop of the place where his cute cat ears used to be. His ears that Soubi had taken. Why couldn't he stop thinking of Soubi? He told himself over and over Soubi didn't care so why?
Strong arms scooped him up and soft lips touched his forehead. This was why he let Soubi stick around. Because he was fucked up and needy, and Soubi made him take it. Ritsuka supposed it came with the name Loveless.
