Letty took in the authentic smell of LA as she got out of the cab, the silver cross chain dangling down her neck to rest in between her breasts. She let out a deep sigh as she looked at the family house and the numbers 1327 above the door. God it was good to be home.
She paid the driver and thanked him, heading up the stairs she thought of all the parties and the people sitting on the stairs getting drunk, now it was empty just like the inside.
"Letty?" A voice called her. She whipped around at the person whom the voice belonged to. From her slim figure to her long dark brown hair, her best friend looked exactly the same. Letty dropped her bags on the porch and ran down the stairs to meet her halfway in a hug. They held on tight to each other, mumbling 'I miss you's through tears. Finally after what seemed like an hour they broke apart and laughed at each other's year streaked face.
Later in the night Letty and Mia sat in the living room surrounded by junk food preparing to watch a movie. Letty put in the movie as Mia went into the kitchen for beers. As it started and they sank into the couch and Mia reached for the cross that she knew belonged to Dom.
"So what happened between you two?" She asked. Letty looked at the necklace then back at the TV.
"Nothing." Letty said emotionless. Mia toned on the couch to face Letty head on.
"Come on, you and I both know that you wouldn't be here if nothing happened. Tell me." She smiled. Letty wanted to tell Mia everything. The fact that the got married (Dom wanted to tell her together), the fact that Dom left her when they promised each other to never leave the others side, the fact that she wanted to rip Dom's head off his body because she was that hurt that he didn't believe in her, in them. But Letty couldn't tell Mia that. Letty turned in the couch to face Mia.
"Look," Letty took Mia's hand. "I'm here because I want to be, okay?" She rubbed her hand. "And I'm not going anywhere." Mia smiled at that.
"Good, because it's been way too quiet around here." They turned their attention back to the movie finally starting.
"I think I can fix that." Letty said devilishly
