A/N: Yes, I realize that after 607 there will be way too much SanSan out there. No, that won't stop me from writing it. Yes, basically all my published stories involve Sansa. No, the ones I don't publish usually don't involve her. (That doesn't mean that I might or might not be slightly obsessed with Sansa Stark.) Sorry to anyone who follows me and knows that I haven't updated anything else in 6 months, I'm sorta working on it. I'll get around to it someday. Anyway here's my hopeless SanSan fic.
Sandor Clegane dropped his axe at Sansa Stark's feet.
"What's this?" She asked, confused. A man from her distant past had stopped her in the middle of the camp and dropped a bloodied axe at her feet. She didn't mean for her next words to sound so cruel, yet they met his ears as such. "What are you doing here?"
"What does it look like I'm here for, girl?" He growled, as dogs often do. But he wasn't a hound anymore. "I'm here to fight."
Sansa blinked. She wasn't sure what to do. She hadn't seen Sandor since the Battle of the Blackwater. For all she knew, he fought for the Boltons now, or any number of houses that hoped to kill her. She glanced to Jon, who was standing slightly behind her, watching their interaction with a cautious gaze.
He stepped forward. "Any men loyal to House Stark are welcome," he told Clegane. "Can we trust your allegiance?"
"Aye," Clegane stated simply.
Jon frowned and looked back to Sansa. Neither of them were entirely sure if they could let him fight. Sandor knew this. He knew he looked threatening and the last house he pledged his loyalty to was the Lannisters, even if Joffrey bore the name Baratheon. He chose his next words carefully.
"The little bird finally found her freedom."
His voice was quiet when he said so, and his gaze fixed solely on Sansa, if only for a moment. She pursed her lips and nodded. "We welcome you into our ranks, Clegane."
Sandor nodded. He bent to pick up the axe he had carried all the way from the Riverlands and moved to join the ranks of men fighting for Sansa Stark.
