I hope you enjoy this poem! I didn't write this from a gender specific POV because I wanted to show that men can be victims of rape as well.

Everything Is Fine

I was in a hurry

I knew I couldn't be late

I must have overslept

The clock read half past eight

I ran to the bus stop

The one near the park

A guy stood next to me

It was getting dark

"Hey!" he said

"I know you

We have a class together

English 102!"

We stood and chatted

While I waited for the bus

He was very charming

But we didn't have much to discuss

I shivered a little

"I could give you a ride"

He pointed to his car

"Its warm inside!"

I was kind of nervous

I didn't know him that well

What did I have to lose?

Oh, what the hell!

I got in the front

He looked at me with a smile

He took off

And drove about a mile

We were getting close

"Turn here" I said

But he looked at me

And shook his head

He parked under the bridge

And my heart began to sink

I sat there frozen

I couldn't even think

He ripped open the door

"Get out!" He yelled

My body couldn't move

My body rebelled

He pulled me out of the car

I saw the want on his face

How could this happen?

Why am I in this place?

He grabbed me by the hair

And threw me to the ground

I looked everywhere

But no one was around

He rolled me on my back

"Don't even try to struggle!"

I began to cry

I was laying in a puddle

In an instant

He was on top of me

He was so strong

I couldn't get free

When he was finished

He looked at me with disgust

Buttoned his shirt

Spit at me and cussed

"Look at me!

You should be flattered!"

Didn't he know

My world had just been shattered?

He walked away

Like nothing even happened

But it did

The worst I could have imagined

I looked at my watch

It was almost nine

I have to move on

Everything is fine
