He was bleeding all over the kitchen floor. The people at the Burrow had experienced quite the heart attack when the young blonde tumbled onto the floor, a mess of bushy hair following behind.
It took an extra second to realize what had happened. When it did, Harry was the first to move into action. He was down on the floor next to the pair. Just seeing the blood pouring out of the open wounds caused Harry to begin to breathe heavily.
"What happened?" Harry asked. He could feel the others in the room moving in. Fred and George were on either side of the blonde, helping Molly to stopper the blood.
"An attack," Hermione answered in between sharp intakes of breath. "We got caught. They saw us. Got away as quickly as we could. But they were too fast. Draco took several curses. I don't know what kind though."
"You two shouldn't have gone alone," Molly muttered. "We need to treat him. Ron, Arthur, clear the table. Fred, George, Harry, help me get him up."
They worked quickly to get him onto the now cleaned table. Draco was panting at this point. Rattled groans were whispered through his bleeding lips. His eyes had yet to open. There was blood everywhere.
He still held onto his wand. His knuckles were a deadly white under the mess of browning blood. Just the sight of his injured ally sent devastating rushes of adrenaline through Harry's heart. He was breathing quickly, like the speed of his breathes might somehow counter the slowness of the Slytherin's.
"What's going on?" Tonk's voice came from the doorway as she and Remus rushed into the room. Their gaze fell onto the unconscious blonde who had quickly become family to them. "What happened? I thought it was just recon."
"It was," Hermione said. She was covered in Draco's blood as she closed up the wounds. Harry was thankful for her experience with the medical aspect. "But Greyback spotted us. They outnumbered and corned us. They put up anti apparition shields. We barely got away. It was a stupid mistake. Won't happen again. We know where they are though."
"The two of you are staying in for now," Molly glared between Hermione and the still bleeding Draco. Hermione made to object, but Molly raised a hand. "At least for now. Neither of you are in any shape to be back out in the field."
Hermione didn't press the issue, her focus more so on saving their newest friend. Harry felt so useless just watching. He took note of the wand Draco still held. Breathing heavily, Harry grabbed Draco's wand and the blonde let out an impressive groan.
Harry froze, thinking he had caused the blonde injury. Draco resettled, his breathing beginning to level out. Harry held onto the boy's wand, staring at the speck of blood on the dark wood.
"He'll be okay." Hermione's hand was on his shoulder for a moment before she pulled away. "He'll be fine."
