A/N: I wrote this quite a while back and it was only when I put it on Fiction Press and someone asked if I was 'dreaming of the Grey Havens' that I realized this did have relevance to Lord of the Rings. So this is origional work and is copyrighted 17th March 2005 and can be read either as stand alone or as a poem based on LOTR fanfiction. For obvious reasons this time I intend for it to be read as fanfiction.
Road to forever
I watch earth share itself
In a symphony of cascading gold,
Illuminating the space where
Mere mortals are not allowed

On rhythm of eternal peace
Oceans stand still, waiting with open arms
The warmth of the fading sun,
Swept by wonders of magnificent light

Western gates swing open
And twilight's veil of ember shadows
Falls across the day's closing eyes,
Reflecting these moments of splendor

In the blink of time this old, wooden pier
Becomes the road to wherever my heart wants to go,
A land beyond dreams
Where I feel safe, loved… at home

Here, beauty is frozen in sudden immortality,
Defining place and time
With Divine expression
