A girl with ash blond hair and emerald eyes was sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, her face buried in a book. She heard a squeal and looked up with a sigh. The squeal came from a girl with short blond hair and blue eyes.
"What is it, Patti?" asked a girl who was almost an exact replica of her, minus the fact she was taller and her hair was longer.
"Nothing, Liz! I just saw a girl with a really cute giraffe backpack!" Patti said. The girl sighed again.
"What's wrong , Maka?" Liz asked.
"Nothing, nothing. I'm just wondering why I came with you guys to pick up your friend." Maka said looking back down to her book again.
"You agreed to come with us because we said we would buy you the whole Infernal Devices series(1), remember!" Liz said with a sly smile on her face.
Maka turned around and started grumbling about blackmail and traitorous friends. She reentered the world of 19th century England when some one poked her in the head. She ignored it, hoping whoever would leave her alone. After getting poked three more times she jumped up without turning around.
"WHAT!" she yelled wiping her head around to see who it was. Who she saw shocked her.
"Black*Star? What are you doing here you idiot?" Maka asked the blue haired boy.
"MAKA, IT IS YOU! HAVE YOU MISSED YOUR GOD!?" Black*Star asked, tackling her into a hug.
"Black*Star! Get your ass off me!" Maka yelled. Black*Star immediately got off, afraid of the consequences.
"Hey, TinyTits, you've grownup since I last saw you," said an albino, giving her a quick once over. "In more than one way."
"MAKA CHOP!" a special edition A-Z encolpia landed on his head.
"OW! Maka, what the hell did you do that for!" the albino yelled.
"You deserved that, Soul! You stupid albino shark!" Maka yelled at him, not knowing five pairs of eyes were on him.
"Maka, why are you yelling at him?" Patti asked.
"Oh, umm, this is my adoptive brother, Black*Star, and our friend, Soul." Maka explained.
"Maka, you have a brother!" Patti exclaimed.
"Patti, I've told you this about three times." Maka said, hanging her head.
"Oh, that's right!"
"Anyway," Liz said, stepping in front of Patti. "That, is our friend, Death the Kid!" Liz said pointing to a boy, with amber eyes and black hair. His hair had three white stripes on of side of his head. He as looking intently at his shoes.
"Hello, I'm Maka Alburn." she said with a small smile.
"Alburn? By any chance are you Spirt Alburn's daughter?" he asked still inspecting his shoes.
"How do you know my idiotic father?" Maka asked, sinking to the ground.
"He works with my useless father." Kid replied blandly.
"Wait, so your the Kiddo-Kun your father talks about every three seconds?"
"How did you kn..." he looked at her for the first time. Kid ran up to her as fast as he could and looked at her closely.
"Your so symmetrical!" he said looking at her in aw.
"Here we go again." Liz said dragging Kid away. Maka turned around to look at the two idiots standing behind her, pretending that didn't just happen.
"So, what are you guys doing here?" she asked.
"Kid told us his friends were going to replace the old members of our band so we're here to pick them up." Soul explained. Maka was going to say something when Liz called her over.
"What is it Liz?" Maka asked.
"I 'overheard' your conversation with Soul. By the way werethefriendsSoulwastaklingabout, andyourcomingwit hus." She said in a rushed way
"WHAT!"
"We already have your bags packed and in the bus, come on its time to go!" Liz said dragging a frozen Maka with her. They bored the bus and set off.
