"..."
She couldn't resist looking over the letter again. The small, sickly girl stared at the letter in her hands, which she had only recently been given.
Tokuno...
That young boy who she was penpals with for a long time...ever since the accident...and yet, she had never met him...who knew if Tokuno was even his real name?
After reading it for practically the tenth time since she got it last night, the little girl folded it, then put it in her suitcase.
Today was the day that they were leaving for Celestic.
After living in Floaroma for almost her entire life due to her health problems, she was finally well enough to go live with her grandparents. Some researchers from her father's lab were going to take her and her baby sister there.
I won't be able to talk to him anymore...I never even got to meet him...
"Lucida! We're leaving soon!"
Lucida was brought out of her thoughts when she heard a call for her. It was time.
Shutting her suitcase, the girl took one last look at her room...after today, this wouldn't be hers anymore. Taking a deep breath, Lucida left the room.
Now...I'm on my own...
'Not exactly.'
The girl smiled gently. She had forgotten about that certain someone inside her head. Yes, you have a point...let's go.
*beep beep* *beep beep*
"Luciiiiiiii! Mister Clock says it's time to get uuuup!"
"Nnn...yes, yes, I know."
It was a few years later, now. Lucida rose from her bed and stretched, yawned, then looked drowsily at the small child beside her.
The child grinned. "Grandpapa and Grandmama are waiting for you! Better hurry, Luci!" Lucida chuckled and put a hand on the girl's head. "Alright, Mimo~" The child pouted. "It's MI-MI-KO!" The two then laughed before Mimiko left the room.
After getting ready, Lucida walked down towards the kitchen. An old man and woman stood there, and smiled when they saw her. The woman walked over. "Good morning, Lucida." Lucida smiled. "Good morning, grandmother. Grandfather." Grandfather smiled at her. "We'll go set things up. I'm assuming you and Mimiko are on baking duty like usual? Or have you changed your mind, hmm?" Lucida laughed. "Grandfather, you know I'd never quit baking!
'ROSE!'
A shiny Roselia then practically jumped from the stairs onto Lucida's shoulder, though it scrambled a bit. 'Roselia Lia!' Lucida smiled as she walked into the kitchen. "Sorry, sorry. I was in a bit of a hurry, since I woke up later than normal." The Roselia sighed before hopping down onto the counter. 'Roselia Ro Li?' The girl smiled. "Of course, Apri. With extra sugar, right?" 'Li!'
Time to start another day of fun~!
