Spoilers: Only if you haven't watched 4.16 - Dead Man Walking yet.

After Lt. Roy Sanders' death Ziva needs a little bit of comfort.

You once held my heart

It's dark when Ziva reaches the door to Abby's apartment.

She knocks lightly, hoping the scientist is still awake. Her hair and clothes are soaked from the rain, her hands shaking, she herself being a shivering mess in front of the dark house.

Abby opens her door, taking in the entire image in front of her. Ziva, soaked from head to toe, hair clinging to her cheeks, eyes reddened from tears. Her lithe form on the other side of the doorframe shivering so hard she wonders how the Israeli is holding up, still standing on her feet.

So the dark haired girl does the only thing that comes to mind, taking the other's hands, pulling her closer, into her warm apartment, into a tight embrace.

She's helping her to take off her shoes and the thin jacket, guiding her into her bathroom.

Where she lets hot water into the bathtub, undresses Ziva, leaving her in nothing but her underwear. Then she is lifting the girl into the bath and taking off her own clothes before slipping in behind the freezing cold body. Holding her close, she whispers soothing words into her ear, helping her relax.

It's only when they are out of the tub, cuddled up together in bed, that Ziva lets the words slip. "I miss him already."

"I know, Ziva, I know." And the dark haired girl knows that she will have to learn how to love again. And that it won't be easy, for neither of them. But she will help and, she is really sure of this, she's going to be her best. And with a soft 'I love you' and a tender kiss good night on Ziva's forehead she spoons the other girl, covers them with another blanket and lets the dreams take away the painful reality of Roy's death.
