3rd fanfic! This one is my first oneshot!
"Free…" thought Shadow the hedgehog as he looked down at the blue planet of Earth. After the brief war with the Black Arms, many areas had been devastated but in time it would heal. His thoughts turned to the alien leader. "Black Doom…" the alien psychopath had nearly destroyed Earth so his spawn would grow and prosper. Even though Black Doom had been evil, he was just trying to look after the spawn. Still, it sickened Shadow. After destroying the Black Arms with the Chaos Emeralds, he had returned to the Ark. "G.U.N.…" The human defense agency had put up an amazing fight despite the odds. The Commander had just radioed the Ark to apologize for his hate of Shadow. He also offered Shadow a job as a top class field agent. For him to offer that, you knew that he now respected Shadow. "Sonic…" The blue Hedgehog who was his rival/friend had congratulated Shadow for his work. All of his other friends had been celebrating happily now that the war had ended. Even Doctor Eggman had decided to have a temporary truce with Sonic to "Gather my forces." Shadow looked at the planet again. "Well, this job does seem like a good idea…" Making up his mind, he slowly walked to the shuttle bay. He took one last look around the Ark. "Goodbye, Maria." He walked to the shuttle and flew down to Earth to begin his new life. Not as an outcast, but as a G.U.N. agent. Behind him lay the place where he was created and where his previous life had been…
