A/N - I really don't know what to think of this... it kind of came out nowhere... hope you like it, anyway.

"Are you ever gonna tell him?"

Spinnerette looked up at Sid and back at the pink haired boy playing a little way away from her. This happened at least once a week now, Sid sure that Ziggy would want to know. He wasn't the kind of boy to be easily confused (unless it came to baths - he didn't understand why he needed to be clean), he was likely to just nod and accept what he was told.

Spin, however, wasn't sure. She knew when she came back to the Heartbreak Hotel that the boy wouldn't have any idea who she was, she was just happy to be around him.

"Mac, you need to take him," Spinnerette told Big Macca, silently begging him to take the small child away from her.

"No, look, we can make it back!" Macca glared.

"You can make it back," she glared in return. "Bastards broke my ankle, I can't do anything."

"Spin, you're not-"

"Mac, if you don't take him I swear to God I'll kill you before the cops even get a chance."

"I…" Macca sighed and took Ziggy with a nod. "Just make sure you keep up, yeah?" Spin nodded and gave her son a quick kiss before they started to run towards the old van. When they finally made it back, Macca spun around. "See? Told you we'd… Spin?" He spotted the older bohemian standing about ten feet away, gesturing for him to stay quiet.

"Mum?" Ziggy mumbled, staring at Macca, who offered a small smile.

"Don't worry kid, she'll be back in a bit," he told the boy, lowering him into the tunnel just as the police caught up to his mother.

"Tell him? And say what?" Spin asked as she watched Ziggy playing with a bunch of small dogs. "'Hey love, mummy's home. Sorry I haven't been around for five years but you know how it is.'?"

"Maybe a little more delicately than that?" Sid offered, smiling.

"Nah…" Spin smiled back, shaking her head. "You're his family now. I'm just the woman with the colourful hair."

"The woman with the colourful hair that he absolutely adores. He loves you, Spin. You should tell-"

"I'm not telling him, Sid. Leave it at that." Sid stayed silent for a few minutes as they watched several puppies launch themselves at Ziggy before finally letting out a sigh.

"Fine."
