Please note, I won't updating this as much as my other projects. This is to be a side project I'll do in my spare time.

Prologue:

"Dark Star! What are you doing?! Stop this at once!" ordered Celestia, her wings outspread and her horn lit with her magic aura, as she stared down at the stallion.

All around the two of them, stone had crumbled from the roof, shattered glass lay across the floor from windows, and several streaks of light came down from holes in the broken ceiling.

The stallion in question was charcoal black, his mane and tail a mix of wild black and dark grey. His eyes, or rather, eye, was a deep, blood red color while his right eye was forced closed, a single scar going through it downwards. His horn lit up in his own, red magical aura. He growled silently at the princess of the sun, baring what appeared to be sharpened teeth.

"Why, should I listen to you?! You've been holding me back in my studies, lying to me, stopping me from reaching my full potential! No…No, I do not listen to you anymore…" said Dark Star, his mane and tail flicking slowly with the wind that came from the smashed windows.

The princess held her glare against Dark Star, her horn slowly becoming brighter with each second that passed. She truly didn't want any harm to come to her protege, but with the dark turn he had taken…she didn't have much of a choice.

Snorting, Dark Star declared, "I…listen to a new master now…The Grand, Lord Darkness! YOU cannot stop what is to come!"

Upon hearing those words, Celestia knew that she had to finish this. Without warning, she fired a powerful spell directly at Dark Star before he would be able to have a chance to defend himself.

The spell hit him dead center, sending him flying back and with a final, deathly shout, Dark Star started turning into burning embers, his horn being the last thing to disappear.

The princess sighed heavily, her wings slowly folding back against her sides. She looked around, assessing the damage that her student had caused to the sastle, along with the causalities.

Dark Star had done a considerable amount of damage.

'Master….Master…'

Celestia woke up from her nightmare with a light pant, looking around frantically. She had been recently having the same flashback as a dream for the past few day. But she thought nothing of it…it was probably just the absence of Twilight Sparkle that made her think back to the other protégé that showed potential.

But that was not what woke her. What woke her was the soft, almost subtle, voice of the student that she thought she'd never hear again.

Slowly getting to her hooves, the princess of the sun trotted over to the window of her room and looked out. The moon, absent of the Nightmare Moon-shape, dominated the sky with the soft twinkling of the stars. Nothing seemed unusual or out of the ordinary.

But the princess knew better than to just trust her eyes.

As her eyes darted slowly around the room, she summoned a scroll and a quill from her desk, and began writing a letter.

"'Dear Twilight Sparkle…'" said Celestia to herself, as she wrote her letter, but she'd send it after the raising of the sun.
