Chapter 1: The Man Who Fell to Earth
ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO:
Jane Foster cursed under her breath as she looked at the scene before her. Lying in a roadside ditch was a bearded, blond-haired man who looked like he had walked out of a Shakespeare festival, with odd mutterings emanating from his mouth.
"Not a local bum, I'll give him that." she muttered as her assistant walked into the ditch to look the man over.
FIVE MINUTES LATER:
"How is he, Darcy?"
The assistant looked up from the mysterious stranger in the ditch.
"He's fine for now. But once that sun comes up-"
"I know. Get him into the truck."
Darcy rolled her eyes and grabbed the man's legs, while Foster grabbed his arms.
"You certainly eat well, buddy." the former griped as she carried the partially unconscious man and put him in the back of the truck.
