'Twas the Nightmare before Christmas

'Twas the Nightmare before Christmas
and all throughout the graveyard,
not a creature was sleeping,
not even my cousin Bernard.

The moon was paler than a vampire,
and the fog was as thick as ever.
I could not see past my own nose,
"Oh," I whispered, "I should have never…"

In the corner of my eye,
I could not believe what I saw.
Out of a coffin, someone had popped out,
to whom I could not recall.

Then it came to me…Jack!

"Jack, Oh, Jack," I had complied.
"It's been a while since I had seen your skeleton face."
"My, my," he said, "You look better than before,
but now I need help for a festival is taking place.

He grabbed my hand and into the deep dark grave,
familiar music faintly began to play.
Up beat and beautiful the music had played,
and then I walked down the bridge of rock and clay.

"Come, Come," he said, "don't be afraid."
But I was of what was in store.
On the sides of the bridge and headstones
lay lights and garland from top to the floor.

As we walked further into the famous town
we meet some familiar faces from before,
Sally, Major, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, and so on.
We were surrounded by Christmas galore.

"Do you like it", Sally had asked,
"We need some real human help, please"
I was surprised by their offer,
I could not pass up, "Sure", I said with ease.

I saw dead animals hung up in trees,
and skulls tied to some garland.
I grimaced at the sight of the decorations.
"This needs a few changes," I said, "but I'll need a hand."

The townspeople cheered at my decision
and we planned and got to work fast,
before the clock will ring "Christmas Time."
We worked long and hard, and then at last.

Christmas was saved in Halloween Town,
and just in the nick of time.
I began to yawn and felt my eyes droop.
Jack asked me to stop with my rhymes.

I knew I could not leave,
but I really didn't have that much sleep.
I really wanted to stay for the festival,
but then I began to dose off and weep.

Jack carried me back home to bed.
He laid me down and pulled the covers on me.
He kissed me on my head,
"This is not the last time," he said, "you'll see."

I soon felt the sun shine on my cheek,
"I wish I didn't fall asleep," I thought to myself,
"Why do I have come back miserable."
"I guess this won't celebrate itself."

I walked down to m tree,
and I really wanted to go straight back.
But there laid a present that had said:
"To: Amanda, From: Jack."

Thanks for reading my poem. I had gotten really bored and I love The Nightmare before Christmas and Christmas and I felt like making a poem and this poem happened. Leave reviews if you want. Thanks! ;-D
