Letters to Fred

Letter 1: Our last battle

Dear Fred
It has been about two hours since you died. I managed to sneak away from the crowd in the great hall. I went into one of the classrooms and managed to find some parchment, a quill and a bottle of ink. Percy told me about the way you died. That he had made his first joke and that you commented it while laughing. A second later you were dead. I never thought that when we parted in the battle that that would be the last time I saw you. Or at least saw you alive. Who knew we would never see each other again. Us, who couldn't be separated, who knew you know who would separate us. People have said they will start to say Voldemort from now on, but I'm going to stick with you know who since that is the name we called him when he was alive. Many are glad those days are over, but I just want them back because I want you back. I can't imagine running the shop without you, but I'll have to. I'm going to hire assistance when I get back to Diogon Alley. I can't do it all alone. I remember when we worked on the idea for the shop. Nobody suspected a thing. It ended up being the greatest joke shop in the world. Or it will be. I'll just let a few years go by and I swear that it will be. I promise you that. Everybody has lost someone. Lupin and Tonks are dead. So is Snape. Harry pretended to be dead, but he really wasn't. He's fine now. So is Ron, Percy, Ginny, Bill, mum and dad. And I'm of course fine since I'm writing to you. I just thought of something. I can still communicate with you since my ear is up there. If I can't talk to you I'll jinx of my mouth so I can. You were the one closest to me, and I was closest to you. Mum is still crying over you. You'll never believe this, but mum killed Bellatrix Lesterange. She was about to kill Ginny when mum shouted "not my daughter you bitch". Bellatrix's last words were actually about you. She wanted Ginny to follow you to the grave. I'm sorry but the parchment is getting wet, so I have to stop writing. I hope your fine.
Love George
