Kirino Ranmaru awkwardly shifted in his seat, staring down nervously at the overtly fancy meal that had been placed in front of him. His eyes glanced to and from the meal, to Shindou's parents, and then to Shindou himself, who gave him a faint yet loving smile. The pinkette's eyes immediately snapped back to his plate.

He'd been in his boyfriend's house many times before. He was perfectly aware of how rich he was, and he'd even eaten over like this a few times before. But this time was different.

He and Shindou had agreed that tonight was the night they would tell Shindou's parents that they were more than friends, and needless to say, both of the boys were very nervous.

Kirino took a shaky breath and picked up a fork, using it to scoop up a vegetable and slip it into his mouth. He chewed uncertainly, looking obviously uncomfortable.

Shindou's mother took note of Kirino's discomfort and looked over, a concerned look on her face.

"Is it not good, Kirino? I'm terribly sorry about that..." she tells him with a lighthearted smile. Kirino's head snapped up and he quickly shook his head.

"No, no, it tastes great!" he reassured her. "Thanks again for inviting me over, I really appreciate it..."

He trailed off a bit at the end of his sentence, his gaze drifting over to Shindou. With a start he noticed some crumbs on the other boy's face.

"Hey, Shindou," Kirino whispered, reaching over and lightly tugging on Shindou's sleeve. He looked over and Kirino pointed to his lips.

Shindou tilted his head and furrowed his brow. It took him a moment, but his eyes widened with understanding. He hesitated before leaning over to Kirino and kissing him lightly on the lips.

Kirino immediately blanched, a feeling of anxiety hitting him straight in the chest. Needless to say, Shindou's interpretation of his gesture was...very off.

He stayed frozen for a moment before melting into the kiss, wrapping an arm around Shindou's shoulders and swiping his tongue over his lips, successfully taking care of the crumbs. They kissed for a little while longer before Kirino abruptly pulled away, clearing his throat and awkwardly straightening his posture. There was a scarlet blush clouding his face.

"He...uh, he had some crumbs. On his lips, yeah?" he mumbled to Shindou's parents, who stared on at the two boys in shock.

After a while, Shindou's father broke the silence that had followed. He reached over to his wife and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"You owe me, honey," he muttered. "Twenty bucks."
