Author's note: It's short and it's kinda random. I've decided to dedicate this to the famous ex-taichou Ichimaru Gin. For today's his birthday and he's one of my favorite character. Here goes. Hope you guys like it.

An important day
"Gin, do you know what day's today?" Matsumoto asked as she bounced up her childhood friend, Ichimaru Gin.
Gin looked at her, his eyes still too small to see and his grin still… erm… gin-ly.
Could it be…
"Do you know what day's today?" Matsumoto asked again and waited for a reply.
Could it be that… she… remembered... my birthday?
Gin's eyes shone with hope.
"Today's an important day." Matsumoto stated, her eyes bright and cheerful.
She remembers… She…
With tears in his eyes, he gave a happy gin-ly grin. Touched, he answered, his voice hoarse, "Ran… I…"
"It's Hari Raya Aidilfitri."
"WHAT?" Gin's eyes widen in shock for the unexpected answer.
"It's a day where Malays celebrates a victory of self-restraint and abstinence, symbolishing purification and renewal. Cool right?" Matsumoto replied, her voice shook with delight.
"Ya, it's… cool." Gin replied, forcing a grin on his face but it no longer looked gin-ly.
Matsumoto then bounced off to find her taichou.
I should have known…
"Oh, Gin." Matsumoto turned around.
" Ya?" Gin looked up.
Maybe she remembers…
"Remember to read up on Hari Raja, it's really interesting." Matsumoto finished with a satisfied smile.
"Oh… Kay. Ya' take care." Gin answered with his face staring at the ground.
I shouldn't have hoped… I should have known...
"And… erm… Happy Birthday, Gin."
He looked up and smiled at the disappearing shadow as the voice echoed down the hallway.
Ah, she remembered.
