Another night being the burden of everyone in the woods. Another night of hurtful 'jokes' being thrown at him. Sometimes Much thought he should just leave and find somewhere else to go to. But he couldn't. He had to stay with Robin until the end.
Much walked through the woods after cleaning up everyone else's mess and stopped at a big tree. He leant against it and closed his eyes, just wanting a bit of peace from everyone else. Why was it they always had to be so mean to him? He wasn't a fool, he wasn't stupid. He was just loyal and not a fighting person. That didn't make him any different.
Just as Much was getting lost in thought, a shadow loomed over him and he opened his eyes to see Robin standing over him, arm holding the side of the tree and him smiling down sweetly, making Much's heart flutter.
"I wanted to thank you." said Robin, leaning down so he was invading Much's personal space, which honestly he didn't mind at all.
"Oh, n-no, there's no need." Much replied, stumbling over his words as usual. Why did he always have to ruin things? Much sighed to himself, looking up and getting lost in the eyes of the man he would die for.
"There is every need." Robin seemed just as lost in Much's eyes as the other was in his, or was that just the servants imagination? Yes, of course it was. It always was. "You do everything for us- for me, and you never get any thanks. Not really."
Much wasn't quite sure where he was going with this, or what had brought it on. Robin never got like this, not over anything at all. It was starting to concern Much. "Robin, is something wrong?" He asked his master, who smiled lightly and shook his head.
"Nothing is wrong, Much. I'm just sick of holding everything in, and I can't anymore. I want you to know how much you mean to me. I want to thank you."
With a dazzling smile, Robin swept forward and kissed Much lightly on his lips. His hand cupped the side of Much's cheek, stroking it gently. He smiled against his friends lips and after a while of sweet kissing, broke, still smiling down at Much, who had turned an amusing shade of red causing Robin to chuckle. "You alright?"
"Yes.. quite. I'm fine. Very, very fine." In fact, he was lost for words. What had brought that on? Why.. how? Did the love of his life really kiss him? For what reason? That surely wasn't just a friendly kiss, Much knew that much. But as Robin kissed him again, this time with so much more passion, Much found he didn't really care.
And that night, they sat there for hours. Hands entwined, heads resting against each other and short kisses exchanged. They counted the stars inbetween sitting in silence, and smiled at nothing, but at everything.
And when Much fell asleep in Robins arms, Robin smiled down at him and whispered, "Thank you."
They were like two halves of the same coin.
