They should hate him
Jackie Tyler should hate the Doctor. He had taken her daughter away and had made her think Rose had been murdered during the one year. He had taken Rose away from her family and had then on their goodbye he hadn't even told the girl he loved her.
Jackie cannot hate the Doctor. He had kept his promise that he would protect Rose and he had made sure the two of them had lived. She cannot hate him for giving them a new life. She cannot hate him because now she holds her son in her arms.
Mickey Smith should hate the Doctor. The Doctor had come storming into their lives and he had taken Rose from him. He should hate the Doctor for making fun of him and making him feel like an idiot. He should hate the Doctor because he had been accused of murder.
Mickey cannot hate the Doctor. The Doctor made Rose smile like he could not. The Doctor had given her everything she deserved in life. Mickey cannot hate the Doctor because now he has a family.
Jack Harkness should hate the Doctor. He had been left behind and forgotten for so many years after Satellite 5. Jack should hate the Doctor because he can no longer die, for letting Rose do what she had done.
Jack cannot hate the Doctor. The Doctor was his friend and he allowed him to travel with him. The Doctor had saved his life during the blitz and he had given him a chance. Jack cannot hate the Doctor because now he has a fantastic group of friends and colleagues.
Pete Tyler should hate the Doctor. The Doctor had come to his world and his wife had been killed. Pete should hate the Doctor for a lot of things these days.
Pete cannot hate the Doctor. The Doctor had given him a second chance with his wife and he had allowed him to have a proper family with children.
Rose Tyler should hate the Doctor. She should hate him for showing her all of the universe. She should hate him for changing his appearance, for dieing on her. She should hate him for making her fall so hard for him and yet he hadn't even told her those three little words when it really counted.
Rose can never hate the Doctor. The Doctor had given her existence meaning and he had cared for her. Every time he had held her hand and hugged her she had been safe and loved. Rose cannot hate the Doctor.
She loves him.
The Doctor should hate himself. He had done so many terrible things in all of his lives. He had caused his planet to burn and had survived. He had pulled Rose into his life of danger and had almost lost her so many times because of it. He should hate himself because he had never told her those three little words.
The Doctor still hates himself but the time he had had with her he doesn't hate himself for. He could never hate himself for holding her and being with her. He could never hate himself because he loves her.
And she knows.
