Happy Canada day! The first original version of this was spread out between seven notepad notes on my phone cuz I got bored in public and had nothing better to do, anyways HAPPY CANADA DAY TO ALL!
Ichigo's POV
I was walking home from work that night particularly mad at Ryou for being such an ass that afternoon. I mean how dare him! Getting so mad just for suggesting that I wanted to take a break for a few days –a break which I well deserved too- I kicked a rock that was lying n the sidewalk
"Hey Kitty cat be careful …you might just his somebody!" came the most familiar and annoying voice ever.
"Good I hope it hits you!" I snarled
"Whoa whoa, chill out kitty cat. You're acting pretty pessimistic, where is the usual peppy kitten that I love so much?" he teased
"Whoever you're talking about never existed" I told him grouchily
"Come now never?"
"Yes never, now leave me alone!" I demanded instead he came closer
"No I won't 'leave you alone' you'd get too lonely" he said
"What if I WANT TO be alone?" I told him
"No one wants to be alone" he said, then added "come with me. I want to show you something"
"Like what?" I asked
"Like something good. Besides I can't tell you that would ruin the surprise" he half whined
"You know that only makes me more suspicious" I said
"Ah but you're more curious… no? Kitten" he teased obviously implying the old saying 'curiosity killed the cat' personally I thought that whatever cat had died had died from stupidity, not curiosity although I had a fair helping of both. I cursed under my breath
"Fine show me your 'surprise' but it better not be a trick" I warned
"Hey kitty, would I lie to you?" he asked
"Yes"
"Ow that hurts!"
"Yeah well it's the truth" I told him, he shrugged
"Coming or not?"
"Coming, I'm coming" I said irritated. He grinned and picked me up honeymoon style then we disappeared from the downtown Tokyo sidewalk.
The feeling was incredible. We reappeared at the outskirts of a field filled with people, and at the edge of a forest of pine and birch trees.
Suddenly a light filled the air and sparkles flew from above, loud bangs accompanied each burst of colour, and I was awestruck at it all.
"Where are we?" I asked, Kish grinned some more
"Happy Canada day sweetheart" I was too happy at seeing the fireworks for him to be in danger. Everything was so amazing, but I shivered in the cold
"It's cold here" I stated
"Not really, it's about twenty-five degrees here, quite hot for them" he said
"Good for them then" I said
"You want me to hold you close for warmth?" he murmured into my ear
"Get a life" I said, but the wind was cold, and I was Japanese, not Canadian, and I did in fact need the warmth
"Oh come here then" I said, he smiled at me, and opened his arms, I leaned back into his embrace, I could feel the difference immediately, and the warmth that radiated from his body soon warmed me up.
I don't know how long we stayed there like that, just watching the sky but soon, and I'm pretty sure this was after a few naps… the sky was streaked with the pink and yellow of the dawn. I was so sleepy that I barely moved.
But when I woke up the next morning I had been carefully tucked into my own bed at home.
"I wanna do that again next year" I murmured, and I was pretty sure I could hear a faint chuckle as a reply.
