What is a brother?

To my older brother Drew.
A brother is someone who is always there for you, no matter what
When someone hurts you, he'll come and kick the guy's butt
A brother is someone that keeps you safe from all danger
He's someone that keeps you from falling into the hands of a stranger
A brother is someone that takes the beer bottle away when he sees you drinking
He knows you drink to keep misery from making you sink
A brother is someone that holds you close when you say you want to die
He wipes away your tears and says everything will be alright
A brother is someone that shows you compassion
He shows you love's fashions
A brother is someone that cheers you up
When you're down in a dump
A brother is someone who's always nuts
He always has the guts
A brother is someone that wants you to stay in school
He doesn't want you to quit like people that think they're too cool
A brother is someone that wants what's best for you
Even if it includes things you don't like to do
A brother is someone that keeps you from running away
He begs you to stay
A brother is someone that accepts you just for who you are
Whether or not you're popular
A brother is someone that shows you there is so much to look forward to in life
For instance, he may show you can look forward to seeing talking mice
A brother is someone that quickly takes your knife when he sees you cut
He locks all the all knives, over the counter drugs, and guns up
A brother is someone that sends you the hospital when he sees you trying to end your life
He cries and shakes with fear as he remembers you trying to commit suicide
Every day, he tells you everything is going to alright
To make sure you don't try to end your life, he'll stay with you all night
A brother is someone that wants you to quit smoking, drinking, cutting, and from committing suicide
That is what a brother is.
This poem is dedicated to Drew, the best brother in the world. For stopping me from taking my life, running away, and other things I'd regret later in life. I wouldn't have made it this far into my life without him. Thanks for everything, Drew. :')
