Small scene for Starving Artist AU. You can find everything for it on my tumblr with the same name. Suffice to say after a night spent together Blake must go for the day, but doesn't want to leave.

The stars were starting to fade, the night had worn on so long. The sky grew paler with every minute spent. Yet, Weiss was still the most gorgeous thing Blake had seen in a long time. Given the art they found themselves surrounded by - literally at times - Blake felt the comment was appropriately extravagant.

Blake slowly backed up towards the apartment's door, Weiss close to their side, her hair glinting in the faint light from a window. Maybe it was the cheap moonshine Yang had somehow procured, but Blake felt like singing, Just to let Weiss know how much Blake was head over heels for her. They were needed at St. Emiliani's soon and Weiss herself was ready to go to bed.

"Stars shining bright above you"

Weiss looked up startled as the first line slipped past Blake's lips. A flush followed soon after as Blake continued on. A grin was starting to grow across their face while inching down a step or three to be level with Weiss. They leaned close to her feline ears perked in interest as the next verse came to them.

"Say 'nighty night' and kiss me"

Blake all but cooed, a hand drifting up to gently brush Weiss' chin. The marble sculptor's was flushed and a little embarrassed looking but she leaned forward all the same. The kiss was soft and to Blake's delight Weiss had even mumbled a small 'nighty night'. Leaning back, Blake continued descending the steps, whistling a couple bars.

"Stars fading but I linger on, dear"

It was true, and Weiss followed down the steps letting another kiss drift along Blake's cheek as they slipped back up a step. They didn't actually want to leave; they'd much rather stay and sleep next to her until noon. Two steps were left on the stairs and Blake reluctantly took them.

"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you"

Keeping a hand on the twisted scrap metal bannister, Blake tucked a hand into their duster. The pair kept smiling at each other even as Blake pulled a knitted cap over their head. Weiss started to ascend the steps and Blake made for the doors, singing louder so it'd echo back to Weiss.

"Dream a little dream of me"

Blake sang the final line, drinking in a final glimpse of Weiss as they walked out the warehouse door. With a final clang, the door shut leaving the Faunus to whistle the tune to themselves in the cold morning air. They scurried along thinking of her sleepy eyed gaze and the coffee they were going to have once they got to St. Emiliani.

Weiss slowly closed the apartment's main door, unable to stop smiling. Blake was ridiculously romantic and she loved every little bit of it. The tune echoed in her head and she found herself humming along as she checked wood stove to make sure it kept burning until Yang was awake. The blonde was, last she knew, conked out on the log couch.

"Wow, gay." And with that Weiss' happy drowsy bubble was popped.

"Yang!"

"What? You just got serenaded with a like 1950s love ballad."

"Do you have to ruin every moment I enjoy?"

Yang simply grinned away shrugging. Weiss shook her head with a huff and stalked to her room. She was going to go to bed, dream sweetly and completely ignore her stupid annoying friend. Maybe dream a little of Blake if she could. It would certainly make her morning sweeter.
