Skye had just taken his shirt off and was just thinking about pushing him over while she kissed him when the door opened. Slammed open, really, with enough force that both of the hackers jumped and jerked apart like guilty teenagers.
Ward walked in so fast that Skye barely even realized it was him until he was upon them.
Oh, crap.
That was about all she managed to think before his shove jostled her back, causing her to lose her train of thought. Ward's face was contorted, she barely managed to notice.
And then he pulled back and landed a special Agent-Ward-esque punch right on Miles' pretty face. The hacker promptly fell over. She thought he might've even skidded backward a little. He immediately clutched at his face, and Skye winced as she started forward.
"Hey!" she protested.
"Ow," Miles said indignantly, glaring at Ward with a bit of fear in his eyes.
But Ward didn't look done. There were anger lines around his eyes as he reached down, his arm muscles bulging, and grabbed Miles by his bare shoulders, pulling him to his feet.
"Hey… hey…" Miles started to stutter, still shocked. Half of his face was red.
"Ward, hey, Ward," Skye said, getting as close to the two as she dared. "Calm down. Calm down. Put him down." She looked back and forth between their two faces nervously. She knew she was in deep trouble, and chances were that her voice was hardly going to being calming to the agent.
"You were kissing her," Ward snarled in the man's face.
"Yeah," Miles said, trying to sound tough. Hard to do half-naked. "What is that, like… a crime?" His hard voice tapered off at the end.
Skye flinched. Oh, great, she'd made Ward angry and jealous. "Look, Ward," she said. "We were, but…"
"That is disgusting," Ward said.
"Wait, what?"
Ward shoved the shirtless man into the wall. "She's like my sister. And you kissed her! You're just some stupid hacker anyway."
"Wait hold up, what part of kissing me is disgusting?"
"She deserves better than you!"
"Disgusting?"
"Um…" Miles looked a little lost, but a lot scared. "I mean, she's not my sister."
Ward didn't look appeased. "You were going to have sex with her!" he growled. He looked vaguely horrified, but mostly mad.
"Well, she's not my sister."
"Damn straight I'm not! Ward, put Miles down."
"You probably should," came a voice from the doorway. Phil stepped in, disappointed father painted all over his face. Ward put Miles down and backed away, tossing the hacker's shirt at him. He still looked murderous. His fists were still clenched.
"Oh," said Skye. "Oh, great, it's a party."
"Skye," said Phil. "I'm very disappointed in you."
"You've got to be kidding me," Skye said. "Is this because I was kissing him?"
"Can I punch him again?" Ward asked almost wistfully.
"No," said Miles. His face was swelling.
"You ran off with a delinquent," Phil said, adjusting his suit.
"Oh, for heaven's sake," Skye said, rolling her eyes. "Can we just talk about the fact that I betrayed you instead?"
"Oh, we will," Phil promised darkly. "But first… Skye, what have we told you about boys?"
Skye looked to Ward for assistance and received only folded arms and a face of protective-older brother.
"The super spy is going to ground me," Skye muttered. "Unbelievable."
A/N: So I really wanted that scene to go over this way. Skye and Ward are kind of my Brotp...
