Ritsuka sat up in bed and he coughed. Eyes blurry, forehead warm. Yep, he defiantly had the flu. Yuiko said that it was traveling around school, but Ritsuka paid it no mind.
The sixth grader looked outside his window, and stared at the snow falling continually, seeming to have no end. He was really looking for Soubi, saying (to himself) that looking at the snow was just an excuse. To cover up the fact that he was genuinely obsessed with the blond haired, older man. He reached over to grab his cell phone on the wooden bed stand. He wanted it to ring, but of course, nothing happened.
He could make out snippets of his parents argument downstairs. He did not want to think about that. All he wanted was bury his face into Soubi's warm chest.
Soubi leaned against a light post, as he smoked, looking at Ritsuka's bedroom window. The glow of a cigarette lit up his pallid face. After a moment's pause Soubi climbed up a carefully hidden ladder to Ritsuka's room.
A light tap was heard, Ritsuka lifted his head up weakly, but before he could reproach Soubi for breaking in, yet again, Soubi was there rushing to his bedside.
"You look awful." The older murmured
"What are you doing here Soubi?" Ritsuka whined.
"It's my job to look after you isn't it?" They both cracked a smile.
"Soubi."
"Umm?"
"Are you always going to stay with me. Will you always be here for me?" The boy look him in the eyes.
"As long as you want me." Soubi said gently.
Ritsuka reached over to touch Soubi's pale face. "Your cold." "What do you expect when I've been standing in snow for so long."
Ritsuka sat up, surprised. "You, you were waiting outside! In the snow!"
Soubi playfully pushed Ritsuka back down onto his soft bed. "Sleep you need your rest."
Ritsuka's eyes began to get heavy. Before he fell asleep he turned to look at Soubi once more. "Soubi? Can I ask you something?"
"Anything you want."
"Do you, um, love me?" Ritsuka asked shyly.
Soubi's face went ridged and he was silent for some time. Ritsuka almost thought that he would fall asleep before Soubi gave him an answer.
"If I had the choice, if I could love anyone in the whole world it would be you."
Ritsuka frowned as he sat up again. "What do you mean could?"
"Seimei ordered me to..." But Rituska cut him off. "I don't care about any of that! Soubi, do you love me or don't you."
Soubi gave a sad smile as he bent over to kiss the fuming boy.
He whispered in Ritsuka's ear. "I do love you."
Ritsuka started to get sleepy. "I love you too."
The second his head hit the pillow Ritsuka fell asleep. And Soubi watched him all night long. And every other night since.
