A/N: Yet another story, but a squishy fluffy one-shot enjoy!

Passing Time

Her thoughts were elsewhere. She had been sitting at this table for what seemed like hours. Her index and middle finger rubbed gently over her forehead. She picked up the Styrofoam cup of coffee and drank what was left of it. The lukewarm liquid glided down her throat as she swallowed.

There was no smile on her lips and her eyes closed in attempt to eliminate the stinging dryness. The café was filled with more people than usual and as she opened her tired emerald eyes to scan the room, she noticed most of the customers smiling and carelessly joking.

A sigh blew out of Sakura's mouth. Returning her gaze to the bottom of the cup she frowned in annoyance. She debated with herself whether to leave or not. Sakura glanced at her watch. Time appeared to move so slowly around her lately, but it didn't matter.

"Excuse me," an unfamiliar voice interrupted her thoughts. The Kunoichi looked up lazily. A some-what handsome man was standing before her, both of his hands were on the table. When she did not reply he continued, " I was wondering if you were alone?"

Oh boy, Sakura thought her eyes rolling in irritation. She looked around innocently and replied. " I don't see anyone with me."

"Oh great, may I sit with you?" he asked a little too eagerly.

"No," the response was short but to the point. The man's shoulders dropped slightly and she felt a little sorry for him. He left wordlessly which she was grateful for it.

Sakura lifted her empty cup. Deciding to get another she moved her chair back, but halted when she glimpsed a familiar figure passing the café window. This was probably the first time she had seen him since months. He was walking indolently and a small frown was placed on his lips. Those lips she used to love even though he never used them to smile, but when he did nothing mattered. It took her a while to notice that his right hand was holding onto another. She had known, though she had not seen his new love. The pink-haired woman stared at the pair. He looked happy, didn't he?

She watched as the woman pointed to the entrance of the coffee shop. Sakura bit her lip in nervousness. She had to leave. Sasuke's ebony eyes peered through the window and then it happened. What seemed so simple was what made Haruno Sakura's heart jump. Their eyes connected for a second, but in that second all of her memories of them flashed before her shimmering green orbs.

She abruptly looked away and after a minute looked up again. They were gone. Sakura knelt her elbows on the table and breathed out deeply. Her fingers entangled into her pink hair as she shut her eyes tightly.

"Sakura," a deep voice woke her from her trance. She turned around and faced the source. The Kunoichi pouted and stood, gazing passionately into the person's eyes.

"You're late, Hyuuga Neji." She stated, her tone of voice laced in frustration.

"I know he," he smirked and leaned in grazing her lips gently with his. Sakura let out a chuckle and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Let's leave this place, I think I've had enough coffee to last me a year, because of you."

"I'm sorry I made you wait. I had a mission briefing."

She grabbed his hand and led him out into Konoha's street market.

Several minutes later, Sakura paused. Neji opened his mouth to ask if she was ok, but stopped when her body fell against him. Her forehead leaned against his chest.

"Thank you," she breathed out into his clothes.

His eyebrows knitted together in confusion, " for what?"

She smiled and gently shut her eyes, taking in his sent. " For loving me back."

The Hyuuga was completely baffled, however instead of bombarding her with another question he gently enfolded his arms around her and pulled her closer.

"It's my pleasure."
