Captain Jack

Notes: Sue me. I can't be the only one who was thinking this.

It was a nice and normal TARDIS afternoon. The crew had just had a nice lunch after saving a not so nice planet from termination, and were preparing to be once more on their way.

They were all in the control room when Rose suddenly burst into gales of laughter.

The Doctor looked alarmed. "Did you eat something funny?"

"No," gasped Rose, tears streaming down her face. "I remembered something funny." She pointed at Jack. "About him."

"Oh dear God," muttered the Doctor.

"What did I do?" asked Jack, his eyes wide.

"Nothing," said Rose. She shook her head. "Oh, everything. Just you…you're like…"

"What are you on Rose?" asked Jack, looking interested in this new 'happy drug'.

"In my time there's this film." Rose struggled to explain. "It's about pirates."

"O-K…" said Jack, rolling his eyes. "And that's so like me because…?"

"Well, it's kind of a compliment. I mean, he's thought of as very attractive," said Rose. Suddenly the Doctor got it.

"Rose, that's so…" He waved his hands, reaching for the word. He laughed. "It is funny. They're very similar." He looked at Jack. "Captain."

"Told you so," said Rose, nudging him.

"Sorry, am I the only one who isn't on some form of drug?" asked Jack, looking exasperated. "Pirates? Compliment? This isn't very nice you know."

"We're sorry, it's just…" Rose dissolved into giggles again and Jack turned to flounce off. "No, wait Jack. Just…will you do something for me?"

"Oh God, what now?"

"Jack." She struggled to keep a straight face. "Humour me. Say this." She leant over and whispered in his ear. He glanced at her.

"Are you insane?" he asked seriously.

"Just say it, please!" begged Rose, exchanging glances with the Doctor.

Jack sighed.

"You will all remember this as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow," he deadpanned. They both started laughing hysterically again.

"I still don't get it!" complained Jack. "This is a reference to something I have no concept of."

"Jack, Jack, say this now," said Rose, wiping her eyes. She whispered again, clutching her aching stomach.

"Take what you can," he said curiously.

"GIVE NOTHING BACK!" they both roared, startling him.

"I'm going," he announced. "Call me when we've landed, or when you're both normal again…" He looked at them both as they continued to laugh. "…which ever is sooner."

"That was so great," said Rose weakly. The Doctor grinned at her.

"That's not the only film y'know," he said casually. "Titanic?"

Rose thumped him.

"No," she said. He laughed and stood behind her with his hands on her waist.

"Don't worry Rose," he aid impishly. "I won't let go."

Just had to get it off my chest.
