There's a quote by Coulson that goes along the lines of, "We swore an oath, we all did. To protect the world, from the much weirder world." Well, hearing it upon the second time, my sleep-deprived brain didn't let him finish and completed the sentence itself. Which led to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actually being secretly Team Rocket. Or at least, Team Rocket fans.

"We swore an oath." Coulson told his team, standing in front of them. "We all did. To protect the world. From devastation. Devastation that the much weirder world tends to wreck on normal people. We also swore to unite the people within our nation, within all nations."

Skye shook her head. She was getting a serious case of deja vu hear. Where had she heard these phrases before?

May raised an eyebrow at Coulson but nodded along. She knew where this was going.

"We swore to protect the truth, and denounce evil. This is a service of love."

Seriously. Skye felt like she'd heard this speech somewhere before. Where was it again?

"We want to reach everybody, to safe guard them, even if we have to extend our reach to the very stars themselves."

It wasn't recently. She knew it had at least been a while since she heard something like it. What was it again? This was driving her insane!

"Coulson." May spoke up in a warning tone.

He inclined his head towards her. "May."

He cleared his throat and looked back at the rest of his team again. "Alright, I'll wrap this up now. We're ready to take off, May."

"On it. We'll be off at the speed of light. Our enemies won't know what hit them."

"Then they better surrender quick before they pick a fight." Nobody wanted to fight the Calvary.

"Meowth, that's right!"

All eyes turned towards Skye. She felt a blush tinge her cheeks. "Uhh, sorry. I don't know where that came from."

The rest of the team continued to stare at her.

"Just, I swear I'd heard that speech before. Or something like it. And then it hit me, and I guess my mouth went on auto pilot."

More staring. This was really embarrassing.

"I would have sworn you stole that from Team Rocket, except you didn't start with prepare for trouble or make it double."

They were all still just staring at her. Skye cleared her throat.

"I'll just, uhhh, go now. Sorry." She ducked her head and quickly walked out of the room, silently cursing her stupid childhood. Why had she watched Pokemon as a teenager anyway? She must have been insane!

Coulson watched her go. Mae walked over to him and stood by his side. Finally, he spoke. "I told you this would work."

"I shouldn't have doubted you."

Fitz grinned. "Well, this was fun."

Simmons nodded in agreement. "Yes, what prank should we play on her next?"
