Disclaimer: I don't think that I'll write any chapters with this but I always wanted to write one of these stories where a character isn't eligible for Hogwarts. Don't get me wrong, I love Ron, but I choose to use him for this story. I mean, think about it. What if he wasn't accepted to Hogwarts? Or one of the other characters? Please R/R!!! I really appreciate it!

Everything at the Burrow was as normal as it was supposed to be during the summer. Noises could be heard from Fred and George's room, Percy had his door closed, Ginny was listening to the radio, and Ron was anxiously awaiting his arrival to Hogwarts. He had been waiting for this year ever since he could remember. Ever since Ron was eight and Bill returned home from his seven years of school.

I can learn all this magic, he would think as he watched his family do different spells and enchantments. I can learn it all.

The whole Weasley family was excited and extremely busy during that last week before school started. Mrs. Weasley was franticly taking her kids to all of the needed places. Olivander's wand shop, Madam Malkin's Robe's For All Occasions, Flourish and Blotts, and all of the other necessary shops.

Ron was becoming more and more nervous and excited about school. Soon he would be in this great castle he's heard so much about. With it's pearly white ghosts and tall moving staircases, it sounded like a wonderful place.

Boarding the platform was interesting. Ron had never walked through a brick wall before.

On the train he couldn't find a compartment so he sat with a boy with glasses and jet-black hair. This boy turned out to be none other than the boy who lived, Harry Potter. Both boys were fascinated with each other. They talked through the whole train ride and quickly became friends.

As they reached the castle, Ron became extremely nervous. Please let me do good here, he kept thinking to himself.

They reached the entrance hall with all of the first years shaking slightly. A witch named McGonagall told them about the four houses, (which Ron knew about already), and that they would soon be sorted into their house.

Before long, all of the first years were brought into the Great Hall. This room was so marvelous, with it's long tables, golden utensils, and fantastic ceiling, which looked just like the night sky. Ron was simply in awe.

Professor McGonagall had started calling forth students. She had them sit on a stool and put on a battered looking wizards hat. This hat then called out which house that student would be in.

Ron was figuring that he would be in Gryffindor because of his family's history but didn't want to jinx it so quickly put the thought away.

As the line became shorter and shorter, Ron's new friend, Harry, was put into Gryffindor.

Soon it was at the end of the line and Ron sat on the stool. Professor McGonagall placed the hat on his head.

He sat there like that for about thirty seconds or so with the hat doing nothing but making his forehead sweaty. A minute went by. another minute. another thirty seconds. Ron was starting to worry now. It didn't take anyone else this long to be sorted.

After five minutes total of sitting there with nothing happening, Professor McGonagall took the hat off Ron's head. She gave him a look of sorrow and bent down to tell him something. In a voice he could barely hear she said, "We are very sorry but there has been a mistake. You are not acceptable for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
