This is just a Uriah and Marlene one-shot I wrote a while ago. I've decided to start posting all my one-shots I write on here. Most of the time they'll be short though. Oh well! Here ya go! It's of the muffin shooting scene! Love ya!
Uriah's POV
An hour ago Marlene came up to me. We talked for a few minutes then decided I was going to shoot a muffin off her head. It seems a bit odd, but hey we're Dauntless and we don't do normal. I'm a bit scared I'll be off a little and hurt her. We're using blanks so it won't kill her, but if it hits her it will hurt. I really like her, but I don't know if she feels the same way about me. I do know one thing though, if I miss and hit her, she will laugh at me for missing, and also be mad at me for hitting her. Right now I'm trying to get people to come watch while Mar gets the muffin.
Marlene's POV
I'm getting the muffin for Uriah to shoot off my head right now. It's a bit scary to know that someone's going to be pointing a gun right above your head and if they're off a little that it could really hurt. I trust Uriah though. I know I should be scared, but he's been shooting a gun since he was seven. He's not gonna miss. I wonder who's gonna come watch. I know Lynn will for sure. She's my best friend and I know she'll want to make sure I'm ok. I meet up with Lynn and Uriah five minutes later near the chasm. I hand Lynn the muffin because for some weird reason she wanted to hold it. Whatever then. As we walk we pass a hallway and Uriah calls out Tris's name. Does he like her? I hope not.
Uriah's POV
I am able to convince Tris to come. She may have been a Stiff, but she's pretty cool. I look over at Marlene and see something different about her. What is it? She looks different in her facial expression. Is she...jealous? Oh well. We walk into the training room and I'm excited to see what comes next. We walk into the training room and Mar gets in position. She places the muffin on her head. I get ready and aim, squinting one of my eyes as I do so.
Just as I'm about to shoot Marlene screams, "WAIT!"
Is she backing out!? No, that can't be right. She's too brave to do that. Just after I finish thinking this, she takes the muffin off her head and eats it. Typical Mar.
"MMKAY!" she says while placing the muffin back and giving me a thumbs up.
I aim again and shoot. PERFECT HIT! WOO! She didn't even blink! I'm impressed! Just then, she bends down to grab the muffin again and begins to eat it.
"Gross!" I say.
I start to shoot more. Just then, Four, Lynn's older sister Shauna, and my older brother Zeke walk in. Uh-oh.
Marlene's POV
We walk into the training room and I walk over to the targets. I place the muffin on my head. Hold on a sec, this a a waste of a perfectly good muffin! I see Uriah aiming and scream at him to wait. I quickly take a bite of the muffin. MMMM! It's delicious! I place it back on my head and give Uri a thumbs up. He shoots and hits it perfectly. The muffin falls off my head so I bend down and pick it up. I wonder if it still tastes good. My curiosity gets the best of me and I take a bite. It still tastes awesome.
"Gross!" Uriah says. I laugh and see Tris and Lynn talking. Uri turns to other targets and shoots. He looks so handsome when he's concentrated. My train of thought is broken when Four, Zeke, and Shauna walk it. This should be interesting.
