World will not stop for love
My eyes open slowly and I look over at you. Your breathing is slow and barely audible. I know you're not dying; yet something makes me want to get closer to you. I snuggle closer and your arm wraps around me. It feels like heaven. I pray that this moment will never end, though I know it must eventually. I don't want to return to the outside world. This is just too perfect. If only, if only the world would just stop and we could stay like this forever.
Your eyes open and smile lovingly. "Good
morning, my love." You whisper.
"Good morning," I whisper back. "It's a
lovely day."
"Not nearly as beautiful as you,
though."
I smile, hoping you don't see my
blush. We stay in our embrace for a few
hours more, not moving, not kissing, just laying. Laying there as if the world will never go on. And I hope it won't. But I know it must. The world will go on. Despite the love we feel, despite the fact our
families are doing everything in their power to keep us apart. The world will not stop for love. It will not.
