Author's Note:
New story! I realized how little effort I'd put into the beginning of my other story; there was no back story or exposition at all really. I decided to start a new and improved story. I hope this one turns out a little bit better.
Let me know how you guys like it!

Clarissa Adele and Jonathon Cristopher Morgenstern, super siblings of Alicante Academy. Jonathan was going to be the senior of the Academy; there wasn't a single student that didn't know his name. He was captain of not only the captain of the soccer team, but he was also one of if not the smartest student in school. Not to mention that he was stunningly attractive. Girls always fell for his silky white hair and black eyes. He had the prefect body for an athlete. He was 6'1" and had bands of muscle around his arms and stomach. Every guy admired Jonathan's athletic perfection or wanted to kill him because of it. Every girl was completely and utterly infatuated of him. Well, maybe not every girl.
Clarissa Adele Morgenstern; Jon's baby sister. Clary didn't share quite the same kind of fame as Jonathon did. She was going to be an average sophomore, but everybody knew who she was. He brother was the most popular and looked-up to senior in the school, but she was also dating senior Sebastian Verlac. Sebastian was Jon's right hand man. When Clary had first entered Alicante, Sebastian had shown interest in her, and he was unbelievably attractive, so, of course, Clary returned the feelings. She thought she looked perfect with him because they were complete opposites. Sebastian had dark hair and dark eyes; both were completely black. He was also six feet tall and extremely muscular. Sebastian was a direct contrast with Clary's fiery red hair and green eyes. She was also only 5'2", and you wouldn't catch her anywhere near a soccer field or volleyball court. She was a passionate artist like her mother.
When Clary and Sebastian started going out, Jon wanted to get to know Sebastian, as the over protective brother he was, and they ended up becoming best friends. It annoyed Clary at first because she didn't want to share her boyfriend with her brother, but Sebastian treated her better than she could've imagined, so she didn't mind. Plus, Sebastian got to spend twice as much time in the Morgenstern home. He had a permanent place at their dinner table. Jon and Jocelyn, Jonathan and Clary's mother, sat at the heads of the table, and Sebastian and Clary say on either side. The Morgenstern children's father, Valentine, had passed away from cancer several years before Clary entered Alicante, and Jon refused to talk about it with anyone because he was extremely close to their father. For this reason, not many people knew much about their father. The list was restricted to Sebastian and Simon.
Simon Lewis was Clary's best friend since she could remember. He was the biggest geek you'd ever meet. He wore Harry Potter glasses and couldn't control his unruly brown curls. He shared Clary's lack of athleticism, but, unlike her, he was not an artist. Not even close. He liked dorky sci-fi movies and video games, but if you asked him, he would say he was a "movie and video connoisseur". He claimed to be a specialist in the field of computerized gaming and movie analysis. He also had a collection of comics and action figures from all kinds of sci-fi movies; his favorite was Star Wars. Clary absolutely loved everything about Simon. He was always there for her, and for that, she was endlessly grateful. Jonathon and Sebastian had liked to pick on Simon for his geek ways, but Clary has ceased to talk to them for a week until they both agreed to be nicer to him. Now they were all friendly to each other, and Jonathon actually made an effort to get to know Simon.
Clary didn't know how she got lucky enough to get a brother as incredible as Jon. Ever since Clary was a little girl, Jonathon had been the best big brother he could possibly be. They never went through one of those stages where they "hated each other" like most siblings did. He protected her from everything and, a lot of the time, nothing. One time, when Clary was 5, she was playing at the park near her house with Jon, and Clary fell off the swing. There was a little boy that was standing a couple feet away from her when she fell, and Jonathon thought that the boy had pushed Clary. The boy looked about 6 and Jon was 7, and Jon pushed him to the ground for "hurting his little sister". Jonathon always had that sort of protectiveness over her. She didn't mind most of the time. It didn't get in the way with Sebastian because Seb and Jon were such good friends.
The only time that Clary could remember that Jonathon hadn't been there for her was when their father had passed away. Clary was 11, so Jon was around 13. Jonathon and Valentine were always inseparable. They had the relationship that Clary had with her mother. They were both artist, and they understood each other. They had an unbreakable bond that no one else would ever understand. Valentine and Jonathon had this same bond. Jon was shattered when Valentine passed away. He locked himself in his room for 3 weeks. He wouldn't speak to Jocelyn or Clary, so Jocelyn sent him to therapy. He wouldn't speak there either, so Jocelyn gave up on him. She began drinking and would sleep all day because she was wasted. It was like she'd lost her husband and son. Sometimes Jocelyn would still drink and get wasted, but it was less often now. This cracked Clary and Jocelyn's relationship. They could never be as close as they were before, and Clary often grimaced at the fact that her father's death cost her parts of her mother and brother as well. Even when Jonathon had been selectively mute, Clary would go to his room at night and lay with him. She couldn't survive the terror she saw when she closed her eyes without him. He never consoled her when she would wake up crying, and she would never forget that. She learned to stay in her room alone, and she realized she couldn't rely completely on Jonathon; he was broken now. He loved his protective side, but she knew that a lot of that side was simply a façade.
Still, Clary was perfectly happy. She needed her brother, and she had him. She also had the world's hottest boyfriend and a best friend that irreplaceable. She didn't have a perfect life; her family was broken even though they looked fine, and she had insecurities. But, she was thoroughly content. It also helped that they still had three weeks left of summer break before they had to return to Alicante. Jonathon had already brought her, Sebastian, and Simon up to their lake cabin for two weeks, and they went to the beach for a week. They stayed with a close family friend, Luke Garroway. He had been really close with both of Clary's parents, and he grew extremely close to Jocelyn when Valentine passed away. He was there for her like Jonathon should've been for Clary. Luke had an enormous beach house right on the sand, and they went every summer. This was the first summer Sebastian came, and his relationship with Clary really grew. They went for walks on the beach and they went to parties on the boardwalk all night long. Honestly, some of the parties got really crazy, and she didn't remember some of them. Now Clary had three weeks to do whatever she wanted. She intended to hang out with Sebastian as much as she could, and, when he was busy, hang out with her best friend like she was doing at the moment.
Simon was sprawled out on one of the pool-side lounging chairs in Clary's backyard. The layout of Clary's yard was different from most of the families' on her street. She had a back deck that led to her patio that was made out of stone. Their pool was just beyond the patio and was a lucky addition to the house because the extra land was supposed to be cleared for another home. It ended up being a pool and a large grassy area that was great for Jonathon to practice soccer with Sebastian and all of their friends. Jonathon also loved throwing parties at their house whenever their mom was away at art galleries. Clary's backyard also happened to Simon's favorite place to hang out in the summer time. He was in his gamer t-shirt and swim shorts, and he was wearing cheap sunglasses from Walmart. Clary sat facing the woods on the far side of the grassy area of her yard, and rushed to finish coloring the trees because she didn't want the movement of the sun to affect her final product. She had her hair up in a messy bun, and she wore khaki colored shorts and a simple blue tank top.
"You should relax your face, Morgenstern. You would want it to be frozen in the hideous expression forever," Simon said to her. Clary turned to see him step next to her and examine her work.
"You couldn't even see my face! I could've been making the sexiest face you've ever seen," she claimed. Clary raised her eyebrows at Simon as he rolled his eyes.
"I hate to break it to you, but you never have 'the sexiest face' when you're concentrating or drawing. In this case you were doing both, so I knew that your face was probably completely contorted." Simon smile to himself and turned to look at the trees that Clary had been scrutinizing. She smile to herself and picked up her green marker. In one quick movement, she swiped the marker across Simon's cheek, leaving an ugly, green smudge behind. He turned to look at her and was genuinely surprised. The look on his face added to the green smudge cause Clary to burst into a fit of giggles.
"You think this is funny, do you?" Simon pointed to his cheek and raised his eyebrows at her. Clary just laughed harder. He stood up and scowled down at her. She could hardly breathe because she was laughing so hard. Suddenly, Simon's glare turned into an evil smirk.
"I think she's gone into laugh-shock," Simon exasperated, "I'm having to have to help by applying water. A lot of water." His smile looked sinister. Clary stopped laughed and looked up at him dreadfully.
"You wouldn't," she whispered.
"Oh, I would," he answered. He gave her one last cruel grin before lunging at her. Clary yelped and ran from him towards the woods. Simon was taller than Clary, so naturally, he gained on her quickly. She turned parallel to the woods and ran faster; he followed. Finally, Clary decided to turn back towards the house, and she made it 3 yards before he caught her waist and lifted her over his shoulder. She flailed her limbs helplessly, but she couldn't break his grip.
"Simon, put me down!" she commanded, but her just laughed. He carried her to the pool, and she flailed harder.
"Simon!" she screeched just before Simon through her into the clear, blue water. She yelled until she hit the surface, and then the water surrounded her. She swam to the surface and coughed up all the water that she'd swallowed. Simon stood there looking as smug as ever with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
"Not laughing now, are we?" he asked. Clary glared at him and swam to the edge of the pool. She reached her hand up towards him, eyebrows raised.
"Ha ha, Mr. Funny. Now, help me out of the pool, asshole." Simon reached for her hand, and when he took hold of it, Clary pulled him down as hard as she could. He flipped and landed flat on his back before he went under. Clary started laughing again when Simon came back up and looked at her with playful glare. Soon enough, he was laughing just as hard as she was. They swam around the pool until the sun went down, and Jonathon came outside to tell them it was dinnertime.
"You're welcome to stay for dinner, Simon," he said and walked away. He placed two towels on the lounging chair, and Simon handed one to Clary. They laughed some more as they dried off. They began walking into the house when Clary noticed a movement at the house next to hers. A moving truck had pulled into the driveway, and two men began unloading large pieces of furniture.
"Looks like you've got some new neighbors," Simon commented. They walked inside to change into new clothes before dinner, but Clary couldn't keep her mind from wandering to the moving truck. She hoped that her new neighbors wouldn't be a mean elderly couple like last time. They were terrible. Clary knew that she'd be praying for some nice neighbors that night.
I'm really excited about this story guys! I got home from school and wrote this whole chapter because this is all I could think about all day!
Let me know what you think! Until next time
