Jack pulled Sam against him and ran his hands across her naked back. "Hot damn, but you are amazing."

"You're not so bad yourself, fly boy." She kissed his collarbone. She slid her thigh up his leg, getting as close to him as possible. The middle finger on his right hand slid along one of the small thin scars on her back. Sam shifted but after a moment his finger returned to the scar. It was one of three scars so small that Pete had never noticed them or asked about them, but this was the third time she'd had sex with Jack and the third time he'd found one of those scars.

"Jack."

"Hmmmm?"

"Stop."

His hand slowed. "Stop what?"

Sam sighed as she rolled away from him. "You know what."

Jack sat up and reached out, touching her lower back, far from the scars. "I'm sorry."

She looked over her shoulder. "Are you going to punish yourself every time?"

"I wasn't."

Sam picked her bra up from the floor. "Right."

He wrapped his fingers around her elbow. "I'm serious. Don't go."

Sam saw the sincerity in his eyes. She dropped her bra and climbed back in bed, lying on her back. Jack rolled to his side and propped his head on his left hand as he placed his right hand on her abdomen. "I really didn't mean to do anything to upset you."

"How is it with all my scars to choose from you keep finding those three?"

"I don't know." He spread his fingers across the scar where she was shot by an Ori soldier. "Just lucky I guess."

Sam snorted. "So, you really aren't dwelling on it? I know you blamed yourself, even though it wasn't your fault."

Jack grunt. "It was my fault and no I'm not dwelling on it."

She put her hand on his and stopped it from moving. "We both screwed up, but neither of us is to blame." She turned her head and made eye contact with him in the dim room. "Turghan was the only bad guy."

She felt the muscles in his arm tense. "Right."

"Jack."

"I left you alone."

"And I let myself be kidnapped, even though I had the ability to kick Abu's butt." She ran her hand up his arm to his shoulder. "We both screwed up, but we can't let this stay between us, not if we're going to be a successful couple."

She rolled and faced him. "I can't change what happened and neither can you." Her hand moved up to side of his face. "Is this always going to be a wall between us?"
