All Boys are Predators
"When you find your Boaz make sure he respects Yoaz."
"I don't need your opinion on Kaname, I don't need you to give me dating advice, and have you ever kissed with a girl, and I mean not because you were sucking their blood?" Yuki's mouth hung open even after the words left and she closed it with some effort. Opting to use the blow-drier instead of her mouth, she drowned out the silence. It overheated a moment later leaving her standing in the silence. She caught Zero's eye in the mirror. He still said nothing, she but saw the strangest expression on his face.
"I'm sorry," Yuki offered clumsily.
"Yuki, it's not like you don't know that all boys are predators."
"Hah! Are you a predator?" She chided and gave him a triumphant look. He returned it with a dubious look and then she felt stupid for asking such an obviously wrong rhetorical question.
"I don't think it's true. Not all boys are vampires."
"All boys are predators." Zero repeated evenly. "In any case, you need to ask him, so you will find out sooner or later."
"Because that's not how it works! It should happen naturally," Yuki vexed, gesticulating at him.
"You'll be my practice," she said.
Zero took her hand.
"I was totally just joking."
He still held on to her hand. She couldn't guess with Zero. He hardly gave an indication of what he was going to do next until a moment before it.
"It's not going to help if it's not from the heart," she insisted.
He raised and eyebrow and the hard line of his mouth melted a little.
"Well, I'll pretend you're Kaname, you two are about the same height in any case."
"And I'll pretend I like it."
"Be quiet."
"Yes my darling love." Yuki's hand instinctively covered his lips which quirked up.
"Ew, stop! That's creepy!" She said withdrawing her hand and wiping the wetness from his smile off on her pants.
Zero's smile fell and his gaze became solemn.
"I'll be serious now," he said. His lips parted and he stepped forward, close enough that each exhale of his chest rising met hers. Yuki began to tiptoe but he leaned down to meet her. She hesitated.
"Now are you ready?" he asked, his breath warm against her lips.
"Ok," Yuki confirmed. "Try not to screw it up."
Zero had lingered a moment away and then he was suddenly there, his lips on her lips. She tried to hide her trembling, but he held her so close that she was sure that they moved through him too.
Zero had a hard and beautiful face. The girls' reaction his harsh words and stiff demeanor was almost the same, fear and longing for the majority of him was completely off limits. Yuki didn't know who he was either, but she knew that he was much kinder than he wanted anyone to know.
So kind that he didn't want any gratitude from Shindo when he stopped her fall from the gate, the chairman when he
"Don't get too worked up about it Yuki. I'm sure Kaname will be more gentle," and with that he closed the door and left.
