Hello and welcome to a new crossover series of mine! This time, it's going to be Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and Senki Zesshou Symphogear!
The story will be the same as in Symphogear, but the majority of characters are going to be replaced with Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's characters, including a few OCs of mine that you might recognize from my "Crimson Star Priestess" fanfic.
Just to make one thing clear; my OC Beatrix Miller will have the Kazanari family name through the entire crossover series. Why? Because I have a huge feeling that Tsubasa (Symphogear) will play a huge role in XV that will be aired in July.

Chapter 1: Beat of Awakening
The sky was dark with grey clouds as rain poured to the ground like a cold shower, as if the Heaven was crying for all the losses of the major attack a couple of weeks ago. I was standing alone by a bus stop in a ruined street in my Lydian school uniform, cold and soaked to the bone by the rain, while holding a small bouquet of white tulips in my right hand. I never attempted to shield myself from the rain. My body had turned numb after the incident that almost devastated Tokyo.
The bus finally arrived and stopped in front of me. Without looking up, I got on the bus and showed the driver my ticket. I could tell he was wondering why I looked so dead, but I ignored him and sat down on a seat with the bouquet on my lap. The rain water dripped from my school uniform and created a small pool beneath my feet. I looked through my wet bangs and saw a couple of passengers had casts and bandage on them, meaning they had been involved in the incident that took many people's lives.
It reminded me a lot of a saying I learnt shortly after the climax of the incident.
'Eight Thousand and Eight Voices, Calling and Coughing Blood, The Lesse's Cuckoo'
That little bird was said to continue singing as it coughed up blood. My best friend I had did the same thing. She kept singing and paid in blood.
The bus drove on a mountain part that had a clear view of the part of Tokyo that was still in ruins after the horrific attack. But it was thanks to my best friend that so many people were still alive. That I was still alive.
I saw my destination and pushed the stop button. The bus stopped by the next bus stop and I got off with the bouquet. I barely noticed it had stopped raining. I waited to cross the street until the bus drove away. I looked from left to right before heading to my destination.
The cemetery.
This cemetery was small, so it wasn't that noticeable for the public eye. The cemetery was special for a reason. The graves there were nameless, but they had been raised to honor those who died in duty while protecting the mankind.
That included my best friend. The best friend I had that kept singing on the battlefield.
The photo frame that had her picture was still standing by her grave. The photo had been taken after she and I made up after a small fight we had, and how she once again saved me. But I hadn't been able to save her at all.
I clenched the bouquet in my hand as I gritted my teeth. I didn't want to cry in front of her grave, but… I had bottled up my feelings for so long. I had so many regrets. I had so much to tell her and now I couldn't.
I fell down on my knees as I dropped the bouquet in front of the grave. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore as I allowed them to run down my cheeks without control.
"Why… Why did you have to leave…?" I spoke silently as I bit my lower lip to hold back my sobs. "Why didn't I tell you my feelings before it was too late…?"
The Heaven must have felt how much pain I had in my heart because it started raining again. My tears got mixed with the rain as they ran down to my chin and dripped to the ground.
Why did I invite her to that concert two years ago? If I hadn't done it, none of this would have happened. I wouldn't have lost her.
But… It was too late now. I would never see her again. My shining star…
XXXXXXXXXX – Two Years Ago – Estelle's POV
I was very excited for this day. My childhood friend had invited me to a concert in Tokyo, where the national famous duo Zwei Wing was going to perform. I had heard a few songs of them before and I got hooked at once. My childhood friend knew I loved them very much and he had given me a ticket for their concert shortly after my birthday. He had also bought a ticket for himself so we could go together.
I was currently standing in a huge line that led to the beautiful stadium for Zwei Wing's concert. I had paid a bit of extra attention to my appearance for this day. My half-wavy chestnut-brown hair was tied up into a long ponytail with a black ribbon. I had some dark glittery eyeshadow and mascara to make my sky-blue eyes a bit prettier underneath my red oval-shaped glasses. I was dressed in a white top with a red strapped corset, red skirt that reached my knees, white socks and black ballet pumps.
I wanted to impress my childhood friend and make him notice me and see me more than just a friend. Yes, I had a crush on him for a long time now and I wanted to be much closer to him. He was my first friend since my parents, my half big brother and I moved from Sweden to Japan due to Dad's job when I was eight years old. Sadly, I couldn't find my friend anywhere in the line. I picked up my smartphone to try calling him and see where he was.
"Hello?" my friend answered after two beeps.
"Hi, Yusei. It's me", I said. "I'm by the stadium now, but I can't find you."
"I'm sorry, Estelle, but I won't be able to come."
"What?" my eyes widened in surprise. "You mean you're not even here in Tokyo? What happened?"
"My parents just got a call from my grandma in Morioka. She got into an accident, so Dad's going to drive us there now."
"I see… I was hoping we could have a good time together, but family comes first", I said, feeling a bit sad that I wouldn't be on the concert with Yusei.
"I'm really sorry. I know you were looking forward to it. But promise me you'll have a good time there and tell me the details when we meet again."
"Okay, I will", I nodded. "Tell your grandmother and your parents I said hi."
"I will. Bye."
"Bye."
I sighed as I ended the call. I was kinda hoping for a date with Yusei, but there were other priorities in one's life. It was still a disappointment. I looked up with a sigh at one of the holographic screens that showed a picture of Zwei Wing's two members; Misty Tredwell and Beatrix Kazanari. Misty had long ebony hair, light blue eyes, pale skin and a slim body. She was dressed in a vermillion and hot red strapless pleated dress with a light yellow petticoat. Beatrix had shoulder-length turquoise hair, grey eyes, peach skin and a slim body as well. She was dressed in a light blue high collared crop top with light blue shorts and a low belted pleated skirt. Both of them were beauties and rumors were saying they could be the next top idols of Japan if they would win an award this year as Japan's best idols for the year.
I sighed once again by the slight disappointment at the failed date and pushed up my glasses a bit as I stepped forward when the line moved.
XXXXXXXXXX – Beatrix's POV
I was at the backstage, dressed in my light blue outfit for the concert, consisting of a light blue high collared crop top with light blue shorts and a low belted pleated skirt cut diagonally from the left hip, a large blue bow and a left wing on the bustle, a white headband with a light blue ribbon in my shoulder-length turquoise hair, white and blue stocking up to my thighs, and light blue boots that reached to my knees, but I kept it safe underneath a white robe, waiting to get a clear sign from Commander and Ryoko. My relic, Ame no Habakiri, was hiding underneath the crop top, but now I wanted to feel it between my fingers. I wished this was just meant to be a normal concert to entertain my and Misty's fans, but this was more than that and that made me nervous.
The staff walked back and forth as they cleaned up the last equipment for the show. I hid behind a crate and prayed to almost every God that everything would go well. I was certain my grey eyes shone with worry and I wanted to hide them badly.
"This feels awkward, doesn't it?" Misty spoke up.
I turned around and saw my friend and sister-like figure walk over to me before she sat down on another crate in front of me. She was also dressed in her outfit, underneath the same robe that I had, consisting of a light vermillion and hot red strapless pleated dress with a light yellow petticoat, a large ruby-colored bow and a right wing on her bustle, a light vermillion scarf and white heels. I could see the strap of her relic, Gungnir, on her collarbone, but the relic itself was hidden by her dress. She looked really good with her ebony hair, and her light blue eyes looked bigger with the makeup.
"Misty…", I mumbled.
"The minutes before the show starts are always the hardest", Misty added with a soft sigh.
"Yeah", I nodded.
"It's the life when it comes to our shows", Misty continued. "We also need to wait for Ryoko and Commander's signal to begin."
"You're right…", I agreed.
Misty studied me before smiling softly. "Are you nervous, Beatrix?"
"Of course I am!" I exclaimed, feeling worried. "Sakurai said that today is crucial."
"I know", Misty interrupted gently. "The mankind's future depends on this concert."
"Misty, Beatrix. There you are."
Misty and I looked up and saw Commander had joined us. He was dressed in a black suit and had his hair slicked back, looking professional. The scar on his left cheek wasn't hidden by foundation as it usually was whenever he went for meetings.
"Commander Trudge", Misty greeted. "You look proper."
Commander chuckled, "Thank you. Just to be sure, today is-"
"Crucial", Misty interrupted again. "We're aware of it."
Commander smiled softly. "Good to hear. Because today's concert will determine the fate of the human race." His communicator began ringing, so he picked it up to answer. "Commander Trudge here."
"Hello, this is Ryoko Sakurai!" Ryoko's voice echoed from the communicator. "Our preparations are complete!"
"Got it. I'll be there soon", Commander nodded.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
After a long wait in the line, I was finally inside the stadium. I was amazed by the large interior and the souvenirs they were selling. I first bought a drink before getting in the line where they sold glow sticks. Soon it was my turn. I chose one vermillion, one blue and one yellow glow stick and paid for them. Blue and vermillion represented Beatrix and Misty, and the reason why I bought a yellow one was because it was my favorite color.
I hurried to the main concert hall and was once again amazed by the enormous size. The scene looked gorgeous. I couldn't resist the urge to take some pictures and show them later to my family and Yusei.
I was getting excited for the show to begin. After all, this was going to be my first live concert ever. I had hoped to share this experience with Yusei, but he told me to stay and enjoy myself. I was usually known to be patient, but now I felt like I was having a sugar rush. I literally bounced on my feet as I tried finding my seat.
Back then, I had no idea the outcome of the concert would change my life.
XXXXXXXXXX – Misty's POV
Commander left me and Beatrix shortly after the call while the rest of the staff retired after finishing the last touches backstage. I could already hear the thrilling noises of our fans from the stands.
"Let's leave the rest of the work to Commander and Ryoko, and we'll do our best on stage", I told Beatrix as I removed the robe, revealing my costume.
When I didn't receive an answer, I turned around to see if Beatrix was okay. She was in deep thoughts, but I could tell this concert really bothered her. I couldn't blame her, but she had to let it go and enjoy herself as we usually did on normal concerts. As long as we kept singing with our hearts, nothing would surely go wrong.
I snuck up from and embraced her around her collarbone, bringing her to my chest. "You're taking things too seriously, Trixie. If you stay this tense, you'll break down one of these days."
"Misty…", Beatrix gaped softly.
"You're my partner, Trixie", I added as I placed my hands on her intertwined hands. "I can't enjoy myself if you act like that."
Beatrix was quiet a couple of seconds before I felt her nod. "If we don't enjoy ourselves, then our audience can't do the same, right?"
"Right", I smiled.
"I feel like I can do this if you're by my side", Beatrix said, looking more relaxed and excited for the concert now. "Let's go, Misty!"
"Yes", I nodded as I let go of her, so she could remove her robe. "We are Zwei Wing; the two wings that can reach the ends of the earth."
"We'll overcome any obstacle!" Beatrix added before we held hands and walked toward the stage together.
XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV
There was first an announcement that everyone should return to their seats for the concert, which caused everyone to hurry to the stands before the doors could close on them. Estelle had found her seat and waited with a fast-beating heart while messing with the three glow sticks.
A couple of minutes later, the loudspeakers around the stage began playing the first notes of one of Zwei Wing's songs and colorful spotlights were turned on. Everyone yelled in excitement as the fans turned on their glow sticks. The lights on the stage got also turned on and holographic feathers flew around in the air before Misty and Beatrix "flew" down from above and landed gracefully on a catwalk. They ran toward the center of it and danced for a few seconds before Misty held up her microphone to sing the first part of the lyrics.
"Gyakkō no Flügel" by Nana Mizuki and Minami Takayama
""Kikoemasu ka...?" Gekijō kanaderu mujīku
Ten ni toki hanate!
"Kikoemasu ka...?" Inochi hajimaru myakudō
Ai wo tsuki agete
Haruka kanata hoshi ga ongaku to natta...ka no hi
Kaze ga kami wo sarau shunkan kimi to boku wa kodō wo uta ni shita
Soshite yume wa hiraku yo
Mita koto nai sekai no hate e..."
Beatrix and Misty ran toward the stage as the rooftop opened to reveal the beautiful orange sky of the sundown, causing the audience to cheer even louder.
"Yes, just believe kamisama mo shiranai hikari de rekishi wo tsukurou
Gyakkō no shawā mirai terasu
Issho ni tobanai ka?
Just feeling namida de nureta hane omokute habatakenai hi wa Wish
Sono migite ni soeyō boku no chikara mo
Futari de nara tsubasa ni nareru Singing heart"
The singers formed a heart with their hands before they got into a pose at the end of the song. Beatrix kneeled half-way down as Misty stood behind her. They intertwined their hands with their microphones and thrusted them up at the last beat.
The audience chanted the singers' names and "encore" while waving their glow sticks. Estelle felt so happy after the first song. She loved the thrilling feeling the concert gave her. Her heart couldn't stop beating three times harder than it usually did. Her dream of becoming a singer grew as she wished to one day stand on the same stage and sing with Zwei Wing.
XXXXXXXXXX
At the same time, several floors below the stage, was the group from the 2nd Division of the Special Disaster Countermeasure Unit in a white laboratory. The scientists sat around a main examination table, in front of computers and holographic screens, where a stoned relic was set. The relic looked like a stoned fossil with a head, but it was decorated with spikes on its sides that went down to the bottom. They were there to make sure the complete relic of Nehushtan Armor would remain calm with the power of the phonic gain they received from the two singing Candidates that were taking the concert with storm.
"The phonic gain is showing a rate of increase within estimated ranges", a scientist called.
Commander Trudge let out a sigh of relief and leant back against his chair. Everything had gone according to plan. The mankind was safe. Now he could relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee and listen to the rest of the concert.
His companion, Ryoko Sakurai, was already enjoying her own cup of coffee as she sat next to Trudge. She was an averaged tall woman with a slim body and pale skin. Her violet eyes were hiding underneath her red-framed glasses with yellow tinted lens. Her long hime-cut brown hair was done up into a beehive-shaped dome with a purple butterfly clip on the left side. She was wearing a long white lab coat worn over a short, loose pink dress with coral trim, purple frills in the neck, a purple cloth belt, and open-top pink shoes with slight heels and X-shaped straps.
"It looks to be a success", Ryoko concluded. "Good work!"
Everyone celebrated briefly before it was time for Zwei Wing's second song of the concert. However, the joy and celebration got curt short when warning signs suddenly started appearing on the screens.
"What's wrong?" Commander Trudge called, snapping out of his peaceful state.
"The safety mechanism can't handle the rising energy pressure!" another scientist reported.
"At this rate, the holy relic will activate… No, it'll go out of control!" a third scientist exclaimed.
The commander's heart dropped at the news. Everything went so well this far and now, all of the sudden, it was getting out of control? The concert was going to turn from one magical happy memory to a memory filled with terror and heart-wrenching grief instead? Before Commander Trudge could shout out new orders, an explosion erupted from main center of the laboratory.
XXXXXXXXXX – Misty's POV
Just as Beatrix and I were about to sing our next song, an explosion among the seats close to the stage suddenly rocked the entire stadium, causing immediate panic among the audience. The music came to a screeching halt as Beatrix and I had no idea what just happened. I knew this was not part of the plans. My confusion got replaced with anger when I saw the carbon dust in the air.
It only meant one thing.
"Noise are coming!" I growled.
Flying Noise at the sky dived toward the audience as more Noise crawled out from the hole of the explosion. The largest Noise spat out slime that transformed into smaller Noise that charged toward the audience. The people ran for their lives, but we witnessed how many of them got hit by the aliens and was turned into carbon with them. I refused to stand still and do nothing.
"We need to fly, Trixie!" I told her. "We're the only ones carrying spears and swords in this place!"
"B-But we haven't received orders from the Commander!" Beatrix retorted hesitantly.
I wasn't going to wait to get an approval from the Commander to fight. I ran to the edge of the stage and jumped with my Gungnir relic now resting on my collarbone.
"Croitzal ronzell Gungnir zizzl."
The relic was activated and my costume was replaced with my white, black and orange-colored Symphogear. I immediately activated my Armed Gear. I removed some of my wrist armor that transformed into a white and gold lance. I grabbed the lance and slashed three Noise that tried attacking me, turning them into carbon. Without hesitation, I attacked the horde of Noise.
"Kimi to Iu Oto Kanade Tsukiru Made" by Minami Takayama
"Maboroshi? Yume? Yasashī te ni tsutsumare
Nemuri tsuku yōna yasashī hibi mo ima wa
Hakanaku kie maru de mahō ga tokare
Subete no nichijō ga kiseki dato shitta"
I saw from the corner of my eyes as Beatrix activated her Ame no Habakiri relic and transformed into her black, white and blue Symphogear suit. She joined me as she slashed the Noise with her katana.
"Kumori naki aoi sora wo miage nageku yori
Kaze ni sakaratte...kagayaita mirai e kaerō"
XXXXXXXXXX – Trudge' POV
I groaned by the pain I felt through my body after the explosion, but I was alive. I felt blood run down my cheek, but I could tell I had no major injuries. After I felt less disoriented, I looked around and saw everyone in the laboratory got killed by the explosion or by fallen debris.
But where was Ryoko? She wasn't in the seat next to mine. Was she still alive? Did she make it out safely?
A rainbow light caught my attention. I looked up and saw the Nehushtan relic was glowing. "The Nehushtan…Armor?"
The relic shifted, revealing another form, as the spikes were moving from the stoned relic, creating two whips. I was about to get up and try sealing the relic when there was another explosion. Debris from the ceiling fell down around me, preventing me to reach the relic.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
I was confused for several minutes. First, the concert had gone on smoothly until an explosion at the ground floor interrupted everything. The next thing I knew, the alien creatures I had heard about, Noise, invaded the stadium and killed people. Then, both Misty and Beatrix transformed into some weird suits and attacked the Noise with odd weapons. And the weirdest part of all, Misty kept singing.
I finally realized what was happening and hurried to get out of the stadium before a Noise could choose me as a target.
XXXXXXXXXX – Misty's POV
I realized Beatrix and I had to take out the larger Noise that kept producing the minions. If we could stop them, then we would have fewer casualties.
"Kitto dokomademo ikeru mienai tsubasa ni kizukeba
Kanashimi ni wa todomarazu ni takaku maiagare
We are one nori okurenaide
Toki wa tomatte kurenai
Ima wo ikinuku tame ni watashi tachi wa deatta no kamo shirenai
Kimi to iu oto kanade tsukiru made
Tomarazu ni Sing out with us"
After I unleashed an attack, my lance already began powering down. "The self-resonance units have stopped functioning?"
It was because I hadn't taken any LiNKER since yesterday. I naively thought nothing would happen today at the concert, but I thought wrong.
I saw a Noise coming, but I blocked it with the lance. I got pushed back by the impact, already colliding with the wall of the stands. I took a few quick breaths before getting ready to attack again. However, a cry caught my attention.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
The stand suddenly collapsed underneath my feet when I tried to leave. I rolled down to the ground floor, luckily not getting smashed by the debris, but my right knee got dislocated. I groaned through gritted teeth and tried standing up, but my eyes widened when I saw several Noise run toward me. I cried out and felt paralyzed, not wanting to end up getting killed like the other people.
But Misty jumped in their way and slashed them with her weapon, protecting me. "Run!" she called over her shoulder.
I just nodded and pushed myself to get up. My knee hurt a lot, but I had to get out while Misty covered me. I could hear how she struggled against the Noise, so I tried to limp faster. But when I heard the noise of something that got broken, I turned to my right to see what it was.
That ended up being one of my worst mistakes in life.
XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV
The Noise kept coming at Misty as she spun her lance around to shield herself and Estelle. However, due to the low power, Misty's armor began cracking by each impact she had to endure. Beatrix was at the other side of the stadium, slashing Noise, and shouted over her shoulder to her comrade.
One of the bigger Noise spat slime at Misty, which she tried to endure. She got pushed back, but still stood tall. Another bigger Noise joined the first one and spat more slime.
"Misty!" Beatrix cried, her eyes widening at the attack her comrade had to take.
Misty was able to withstand the double attack, but the armor on her body cracked and finally broke into million pieces. It was then Estelle had looked up to see what happened when several sharp pieces of the armor pierced through her chest, close to her heart.
Time seemed to slow down as Estelle's body flew back toward the wall by the impact as her oval glasses flew off her face. Misty looked over her shoulder and felt her eyes widen in horror by the sight of the brunette bleeding from her chest…because of her Symphogear armor.
Estelle's body hit the wall and collapsed on the ground, not showing any signs of movement. Misty's dreadful feeling grew as she ran over to the girl, dropping her lance.
"Don't die!" the young adult called as she lifted up Estelle's body, trying to shake her awake. "Open your eyes! Don't give up on life!"
The blood kept flowing out of the brunette's wound and created a small puddle beneath her body. Misty could feel her body was getting cold, fearing the brunette's life force had already faded. But her heart beat in relief when Estelle weakly opened her foggy eyes. Misty almost cried in relief when she saw the girl was still alive, but she bit back her feelings. She now understood she had to do the biggest sacrifice a Candidate could do.
XXXXXXXXXX – Misty's POV
I leaned the girl against the wall before I picked myself up with my lance. I stared at the Noise that were waiting for another attack from me. I used to wish for a day when I could sing my heart and soul out. We had such a big audience with us today. That was why I had to sing my best song.
My greatest aria… My superb song…
I had no more time to waste. My Armed Gear was slowly shattering into pieces, just as my life force would do after the superb song. I wished I could have lived longer. I wished I could have stayed with Beatrix as her sister. Those were going to be my regrets.
But I wasn't scared. After my sacrifice, I was going to finally see my parents and little brother again.
Mom… Dad… Toby… I'm coming for you.
"Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal
Emustolronzen fine el baral zizzl"
"Don't, Misty! Don't sing that!" Beatrix cried desperately from the other side of the stadium as I felt my power increase by the superb song.
"I can hear…your song…", I heard the girl mumble weakly behind me.
That was correct. This was my last song. The one that would burn my life away.
"Gatrandis babel ziggurat edenal
Emustolronzen fine el zizzl"
I felt blood collect in my mouth as it spilled out by the corner. I felt my body had already been affected by the superb song as I unleashed my maximal power. A powerful force emitted from me and pushed forward at the Noise that crumbled into pieces, leaving nothing but carbon dust behind.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
I couldn't see so well in my weak condition and without my glasses, but I could still see how the Noise got destroyed by Misty before her body collapsed. I saw Beatrix's figure rush to her and tried to help her up, but then it looked like Misty's body turned into dust, fading into nothingness. That was the last thing I saw before I lost consciousness.
XXXXXXXXXX
I heard repeating beeping noise that woke me up from the darkness. I could see a couple of people, dressed in white, as they seemed to do something to me. I shortly realized I was in a surgery room and I had an oxygen mask on my face.
Misty had saved me.
I had refused to give up on my life.
I was alive.
XXXXXXXXXX – Present Day
After certain incidents back at home, I decided to enroll to Lydian Private Music Academy in Tokyo for my three high school years. Yusei, who was a real genius when it came to Physics and computers, also decided to enroll to Lydian. I thought he was going to aim for a high school that specialized in programming, but he said he wanted to come with me. He did have a good voice and he also played guitar during his free time.
Lydian Private Music Academy used to be an all-girl school for many years until five years ago, when they finally allowed boys to enroll. The school uniform consisted of a white collared shirt, red tie, black and red cardigan for the cold weather, and a grey/black/white pleated skirt with black frills at the edge for the girl. For me, the girl school uniform fitted me perfectly. I had a slim figure, but the uniform wasn't looking baggy on me. For the boys, they were wearing pleated pants in the same colors as the girl uniform, and they could always change their long pants into knee-length baggy shorts for warm weather. The academy specialized in music and my dream to become a singer was still in my heart.
It had gone five months since we came to Lydian and the slight chilly air of September had reached Japan. Yusei and I retired to the dorm room we shared together in the academy. Normally, boys and girls weren't allowed to share a dorm room, but after long arguments with the principal and teachers, they allowed the two of us to share a room, as long as we didn't do indecent things.
As if that would ever happen.
I still had my crush on Yusei, but I didn't want to tell him just to lose his friendship and make things awkward between us. He meant so much to me that I had to hide my feelings and tried to think of him as a brother.
I almost forgot to add; Yusei was actually very popular among the girls and I couldn't blame them. Yusei was a tall handsome boy with tanned skin, navy eyes, raven upside-down crab-like hair with golden streaks. His personality was also one of his charming points; he was calm, cool, collected, kind, but serious when he concentrated on something he deeply wanted to solve, like an equation.
"Today's classes were hard to follow", I spoke up as I removed my school cardigan and hung it up on a cloth hook. "I almost got a headache during the last class."
Yusei closed the door behind him while I sat down by the coffee table to look at the lovely view of Tokyo. "Do you need an aspirin?"
"No thank you", I shook my head as I adjusted my dark blue rectangle-shaped glasses. "But do you think you can help me with some notes of what I couldn't understand?"
Yusei chuckled softly. "Of course. We promised to help each other out whenever we're struggling in a subject."
I nodded before looking down at the table. There was a magazine and Beatrix Kazanari was on the cover, dressed in a beautiful spaghetti-strapped turquoise dress with white frills by the sleeves, and she had a silver headband on her head with a blue heart on the left side. Her CD was coming out tomorrow and I was going to buy a copy after school.
"Beatrix Kazanari's CD, huh?" Yusei mumbled behind me, making me flinch in embarrassment by his sudden voice. "Well, you did apply to Lydian because of how much you look up to her."
"Yes", I nodded while calming down and tucked some of my chest-long hair behind my ears. "She's been absent since the incident two years ago. Many fans have been waiting for her comeback."
It made me think back at the incident at the concert. The emergency deputies had found me clinging onto my life and I had barely survived, if it hadn't been for their quick actions. They had removed several pieces of metal from my body, but some had pierced very close to my heart that it was too risky to remove them. At the cost of that, I now had a forte-shaped scar right above my heart.
But the one who saved me from dying was Zwei Wing, especially Misty. I heard from the reports next day that she along with the majority of the audience were slaughtered by the greatest terror of the world, known as Noise.
I was certain I hadn't imagined Zwei Wing's fight with the aliens, but I needed to know the truth. Perhaps, through Lydian Music Academy, I could contact Beatrix and ask her to tell me what really happened on that day.
XXXXXXXXXX – Beatrix's POV
After Misty's death, I had dedicated my life to kill every single Noise. I almost left my career as a singer, but Commander convinced me to stay in the industry and spread my love for singing to other people.
But I had no love left. I was now a sword in human form, with no emotions.
I was in a chopper, heading toward the outskirt of Tokyo in the night sky where a horde of Noise had been detected. The military tried to stop them with their normal weapons, but it was useless against the Noise.
"Imyuteus Ame no Habakiri tron."
The chopped flew above the biggest Noise and I jumped out without hesitation. My relic activated as I received my Symphogear while landing on the ground. The blades on my ankles extended a bit as the Noise jogged toward me.
"Beatrix, cooperate with the 1st Division for now and observe the enemy's reaction", Commander said in my headphones.
"No. I'm fine by myself", I replied before taking action.
"Zettō Ame no Habakiri" by Nana Mizuki
"Sarinasai! Musō ni takeru honō
Kagura no kaze ni meshi sangese yo"
I got on my hands and spun around with my legs stretched out and slashed the Noise with the blades of my Reverse Rakshasa attack.
"Ā kizuna ni subete wo toshita senkō no ken yo"
I then jumped up to the sky and unleashed the One Thousand Tears attack with one thousand energy swords, making them rain down to the ground, piercing the Noise.
"Shi no go no iwazu ni ina, yo no shibuki to hate yo"
I drew out my katana and transformed it into a larger sword before I jumped up to the air, ready to finish the last Noise. Blue lightning gathered in the sword and I swung it to release a Blue Flash. The slash cut the Noise into two before it exploded into carbon. My gear released steam before I left the battle scene, making sure none of the military had seen me.
Another mission complete.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
Yusei and I were eating breakfast in the school cafeteria while my crush checked the morning news on his smartphone.
"The evacuation by the JSDF Abnormal Disaster Countermeasure Unit was completed, and collateral damage was kept to a minimum, or so they say", Yusei read the news about a Noise attack that happened last night. "And it happened really close too."
"I heard it's been a while ago since the Noise attacked Tokyo", I pointed out after eating some rice. "Do you think this is an indication for something?"
"I don't know", Yusei shook his head before putting down the smartphone on the table. "But still, if the Noise start to appear in Tokyo, we must be very careful."
I nodded before sipping a cup of tea while looking around in the cafeteria. I tried to find Beatrix or at least notice a small sign of her every morning. They said she preferred to eat breakfast in her dorm room by herself. Was she a lone wolf?

I understood the classes much better today, thanks to Yusei's help. I stretched my body after the last class and collected the books in my school bag.
"Say, Yusei…", I spoke up after zipping the bag.
"Yes?" Yusei asked, not looking up from his notes he was still working on.
"According to rumors, Beatrix is attending Lydian, but apparently she doesn't like to be social with others."
Yusei looked up from his notebook. "You mean, she could be a lone wolf?"
"Maybe", I nodded. "I haven't seen her in the cafeteria ever since we came to Lydian."
"Maybe she's hiding herself from her fans at school and paparazzi", Yusei shrugged. "They can be quite strenuous. By the way, weren't you supposed to buy her CD today?"
"Yes, that's correct", I nodded and put the school bag on my right shoulder. "I'll see you later, Yusei." I gave him a soft pat on his back before I hurried out of the classroom.

I took the bus to downtown Tokyo and ran the last part to the music store where they sold Beatrix's new CD. I hadn't made a reservation, so I had to hurry to get a copy before they were all sold out.
I ran past a corner and took a few seconds break to catch my breath, and also tuck my chest-long hair behind my ears. I wasn't the best athletic person, but I could jog for a while without getting tired. When I looked up, I felt something was off. The street was empty with no one in sight. Some weird black dust flew with the wind with an eerie noise. I looked into a small convenient store and saw a few piles of black dust in there. I then looked around the street and spotted more piles of black dust that almost had the same shape as human bodies.
I connected the dots immediately.
"Noise are here?" I mumbled to myself.
A child's cry made me act by instinct, not noticing I dropped my school bag.
XXXXXXXXXX – Beatrix's POV
I hurried to the underground base by the secret elevator of the academy. I had received an alarm that Noise were active in Tokyo and Commander had called for me.
I ran to the control room with the school bag in my hand. "What's the situation?"
"Currently, we're narrowing down the list of responses and placing priority on discerning its location", one of the data analysts replied as I joined Commander and Ryoko who sat in the commander seats.
The main screen was showing several signals of Noise appearing in downtown Tokyo. So the aliens had finally decided to enter the city.
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
I ran while holding the hand of a girl I found and saved from the Noise. She had dark green hair braided in two pigtails, pale skin and brown eyes that she hid behind a pair of glasses. We ran through small alleyways to escape from the Noise as we heard the city siren alarm the citizens of the Noise.
We made it to the end of the alleyway where a small canal was running, only to encounter another group of Noise. The girl clung onto my clothes as I glared at the aliens that slowly approached us.
"Don't worry, little one", I told her calmly. "I'm here and nothing will happen to you."
I grabbed the girl and braced myself before we jumped into the canal. I held the girl tight in my arms as I used my feet to push myself through the half-strong current of the canal. Once we reached the other side, I pushed the girl up to the concrete before climbing up myself.
I ripped my school jacket off and put it on the little girl's shoulders to keep her warm. I crouched down in front of her, making hand gestures for her to climb onto my back. She understood the signal and climbed on me. I held her by the legs as she wrapped her arms around my shoulders before I ran away from the Noise that were luckily slow.
I had no idea where I was running, but I had to find a shelter before the aliens could get us. I had never pushed myself so hard in my life before to save another life. I collapsed once on the ground by exhaustion, feeling foam gather in my mouth as saliva ran from the corner. I was out of breath and close to give up, but Misty's words rang in my head like a holy bell.
"Don't give up on life!"
She was right. I couldn't give up like this. I wasn't going to give up yet. I pushed myself up and continued running as the girl whimpered in fear in my ear.
I noticed we had somehow reached the harbor industry area during the getaway, but that didn't matter. All I could concentrate on was to save the little girl's life, just as Misty had saved my life two years ago with her gentle, yet powerful song. It was my turn to be a hero for an innocent soul.
The girl and I collapsed on the top of a building after I had climbed up there. Finally we had put some distance between us and the Noise. Hopefully, they wouldn't find us now. I slowly caught my breath, feeling my lungs were almost burning by exhaustion. I looked up at the sky and saw the first stars had appeared in the night sky.
"Are we going to die?" the girl asked worriedly.
I pushed myself up with my elbows and gave the girl a soft smile while shaking my head. But then I saw something in the corner of my eye. I turned around and gasped in shock. A big horde of Noise had somehow found us after all.
I quickly got up on my knees as the girl jumped up and rushed to my side, holding onto me while shaking in fear. The only thing I could do now was to hold the girl in my arms and glare at the aliens. Why were they so persistent to chase us?
I didn't want my life to end like this. I didn't want to die because of heartless aliens that only had the instinct to kill humans. I wanted… No. I needed… No, wrong word again.
I must do something to save myself and the girl! I refused to give up now! Misty sacrificed her life to save mine and I wasn't going to let her sacrifice end up in vain.
"Don't give up on life!" I shouted determinedly while glaring at the Noise.
Straight after that, I felt something snap inside me; like a lock on a bunch of chains that just broke down inside my heart, releasing a song that slipped through my lips.
"Balwisyall nescell Gungnir tron."
The Noise immediately stopped stepping closer to us as I wondered what in the world that song was about. The next thing I knew, the scar on my chest began glowing in a bright orange color as I felt something happening inside my body.
XXXXXXXXXX – Beatrix's POV
"We've isolated the response!" a female data analyst finally reported. "We have its exact location!"
"We've detected a high energy source that doesn't belong to the Noise!" a male data analyst added.
"Identify the wave pattern! Hurry up!" the female analyst called.
I raised an eyebrow in confusion. What was going on?
"No, this couldn't be… An Aufwachen Waveform?" Ryoko wondered out loud.
Aufwachen Waveform? Was there another Candidate out there fighting the Noise? But Misty's Gungnir got destroyed during the concert incident and the other relic we had got stolen years ago.
The monitor revealed the codename of the relic we had just located.
"Is that Gungnir?!" Commander exclaimed.
"A new Candidate?" Ryoko wondered.
"But why?" Commander questioned.
The main screen showed the silhouette of a small girl staring at the other girl who was dressed in Misty's Symphogear.
Rage grew in my heart.
This was unacceptable!
