I cried out, jolting up in bed. Then I remembered the dream, and collapsed into tears.
"Y-Yuuri?" Someone called, and the door opened, pale yellow light spilling into my dark room.
"Vi- Vi-" I hiccuped, and sobbed again as I heard his feet pounding against the wooden floor.
In a second Victor was by my side, hands clasped around mine.
"Ssh," he murmured and I looked up to see ocean blue eyes, studying me carefully.
"It was- just- a bad- dream!" I muttered, "Don't- worry-"
"Do you want to tell me?" He sat on the bed next to me, his arm around my shaking shoulders.
"My dog- I dreamed- about him." I sobbed, pulling my knees up to my chest, "I- I miss him!"
"Do you wish to visit his shrine?" he asked softly.
"H-huh?"
"We're staying at yours for a bit, remember?" That's why I wasn't sleeping in the same room as you.
"Oh- yeah- sure," I gasped, and he helped me out of my bed.
We strolled down the corridor, Victor's arm still protectively around my shoulders.
"It's here, right?" He asked quietly, gesturing to one of the doors.
"N-nope."
"This one?"
I slid open the door and silently slid inside, kneeling down by the small black box. I sensed Victor standing at the far end of the room, watching patiently.
When I had finished paying my respects, I stood and nodded at him. Wiping the final tears from my cheeks, I took his arm and we left, heading back to my bedroom.
(I had long since removed all my Victor merch from the room, and now felt at ease when he came in.)
"I'll be here if you need me," he told me, lying down on the floor next to my small bed and curling up.
"No," I said.
Snarky Victor was back
"Oh, you want me to get out?" he jumped to his feet and put his hands on his hips, "Such a shame, since we're happily engaged, and-"
"It'll be a squeeze, but..." I climbed onto the bed, and pulled him up with me (jeez, that guy may look like a feather on the ice, but he sure is heavy), flinging the covers over us.
"Night!" I murmured.
I wondered if he had realised I was wearing an "I LOVE VICTOR" shirt...
