Confessions of a Sorceress

I know what you are thinking. That this is a love story of an evil sorceress whom wishes the death of the Seeker Richard Cypher but it is not. In fact I was working for the Seeker I was to go into the peoples palace and weaken Rahl. But it was impossible with my powers visible. So I disguised myself as a lowly servant in which Rahl would pay no mind too only... He found interest in me.

It started on a hot summer my brothers and I had lost our parents to the D'hara soldiers when I was six years old and it was my eighth birthday and the Mord'sith were abducting girls my age all around our town so my eldest brother sent me to the cottage outside the village and hid me under the floor boards until the Mord'sith left our village. I was frightened that they would find me so when they searched the cottage I was no longer there I had ran to this creek with a secret tunnel that I had found a few months prior. Inside was a witch she was very pretty and kind she never gave me her name for I was too young but the powers she used interested me into becoming her pupil and learning witchcraft and sorcery.

"Come Emily sit by the fire and read this page for me." She smiled as she wrapped her arms around me.

"Yes madam." I smiled. And those were the days of my innocence and as I grew older the witch who had taught me the magic had fallen ill due to some sickness. I could not help her and I had buried her in the river near the cave. I turned to my brothers for support but they turned away from me. I was sixteen and fighting for survival. But enough of this sad story the reason you are truly reading my pages are for reasons much greater then that of my childhood it is why I betrayed the Seeker. Well let me tell you it happened on a rainy day and as I said before I was portraying a poor maid girl.

"What do you want girl?"

"Please sir, I need shelter and work I hear that the lord Darken Rahl is looking for a wash woman, please let me speak with him."

"The Lord Rahl does not allow visits from strangers; now be off with yourself before you get hurt." The D'haran soldier replied.

I pulled my hood over my head turning from the gate. I started walking and out of the darkness came Lord Rahl behind him hundreds of D'haran soldiers.

"Lord Rahl." I bowed.

"What do you want?" He replied paying very little heed to me.

"I hear you are in need of a new maid. I was hoping to serve you milord." He stood there glancing down at me he held his chin high and his eyes lowered as if thinking.

"Let me see your eyes." He finally spoke. I lifted my chin to look him straight in the eyes; those eyes that brought death to midlands.

"Very well you will be taken to the kitchen for training." He said walking away without even taking a second glance at me.

My heart stopped a moment and started again when he said no more and left to his chambers leaving me with D'haran soldiers who so kindly escorted me to the servant quarters.

But this is only the beginning of the end. Now if you will; allow me to show you the rest of the story behind the D'haran ruler Darken Rahl the love of my life.
