Steven woke to the silent house. He mumbled some slurs to himself and closed his eyes again, only to be stirred again by someone shaking his arm. A snazzy tone gripped his ears, making the young hybrid smile and turn towards his crush. Peridot's eyes were wide, and she was smiling excitedly. The look brought curiously and joy to his heart- it was rare Perri smiled, but when she did it was so heartwarming but worrying.

"Steven! Wake up!" Perri shook Steven excitedly as he rose up from the astrewn blankets. Peridot grinned, dragging him down the stairs and to the warp pad with excited scuffling noises from her throat. Steven smiled lovingly at her while she wasn't looking. Shes so cute! He squealed in his head, eyes shining.

They warped quickly, with Peridot racing to the beaches of Mask Island. Steven let her drag him to the important surprise, then suddenly clunked into her back as his legs adopted the momentum. He fell onto the ground, yelping as Peridot grabbed him and righted him again. Steven stared in blushing awe, and as if on cue of the look she recoiled, blushing a dark green and whipping around.

She sat down, patting the grass next to her. Perri watched the hybrid wander out of the tree canopy and sit down, resting his hand on hers. She balled her fingers into a slight fist. I hope Yellow Pearl knew what she was saying. She mumbled in her head, then smiled at Steven. "Before you asked why we are out here, look to the sky." The explanation was short yet decent, and the boy looked to the sky before shortening a gasp of wonder- the sky housed millions more stars and constellations than the light pollution back home revealed to him. The green gem smiled.

"This is amazing Peridot!" He mused, letting the romantic aura of the moment engulf him. He knew that Peridot couldn't have loved him to do this- it was just that he respected her more than anyone else right now. He sighed, it had to be true. He turned to her nonetheless. "Thanks for showing me this Perri, it's amazing out here."

"Yes, it is... amazing. You are welcome, Steven." She blushed again, looking back up to the sky. Nervousness bubbled in her chest, but she shoved it down. "Now is the time." She murmured as Steven turned away to the sky, off guard of her.

Peridot spurred herself forward, draping her arms over Steven's shoulders as she pulled him close to her in a kiss. A yelp escaped the boy, freezing as their lips pressed together and Peridot opened her mouth, unleashing her tongue into his mouth. He stood there wide-eyed before wrapping his arms around her and pulling closer to her as well, meeting her tongue with his. They sat there on the beach, entertaining tongues, before Steven pulled away with a huff of breath. They stared at eachother, knowing they were more than friends.

"I... I love you." He murmured. Peridot mumbled something back of the same idea. He got up, grabbing her hand and holding it for a moment before she got up and they left. They slept together that night after Peridot addressed the situation of rest.
